Hi,
Myself and a few friends are off to Ibiza end of Sept and just wanted to know whether "us 40 somethings" will stick out like a sore thumb in the bars / clubs or no one really takes any notice of age.? |

Firstly yeah you probably will stick out abit judging from when I went but that was 25 years ago.
But also who cares most people are off their heads anyway, so go enjoy yourself. |

"Who cares?!
Go enjoy yourselves!
What she said! Besides younger women like older men these days. Just don't dance!"
What these said but also don't do things just to fit in either.
There is a fine line between doing things you enjoy but looking out of place and cringy.
And doing things to fit in while also looking cringy.
Don't do the latter! It makes it all worse. Go balls deep at doing the former though. Go balls deep and hard. |

Mate....you are never too old to do Ibiza your way
I've seen granny's raving and all the people there of what ever age are very accomodating.
It's clubs in the UK that are ageist, but once the youngsters realise that the oldies can bust some moves they soon join in |

Depends which clubs you go to. If you go to proper clubs nobody will care and likely won’t notice, as long as you’re acting like you’re meant to be there and are genuinely into the music and the scene.
If you go to the more “mainstream” places then yeah you’ll stick out, but worse than that you won’t enjoy it because whilst Ibiza can be great, I’d say about 80% of the people on holiday there are nob heads who don’t really like clubbing or music and go there to act up. |

We’ve recently been to Ministry of Sound weekends and Cream nights and definitely never too old - there were plenty of age ranges.
You are all there for one thing - to have fun - don’t grow old gracefully I say

Honestly, this really isn’t an issue nowadays. Maybe 20 or 30 yrs ago but from what I’ve experienced post-covid-shift, it’s that anything goes. On an evening out very recently the clubs and bars were full of people in their 50s and 60s, mixing nicely with other age groups - damned good they looked too !

We're here at the moment, it's no where near as bad as Maguluf in terms of the age groups here.
Its pretty mixed, plenty of us 40 year olds knocking about having fun. I imagine though there's a few clubs or bars where the crowd is younger. But so far so good.
Loving it here.
Ibiza is a place for us oldens, we were the age group who put this party place on the map back in the day |

"I (Steve) went to Ibiza on a Club 18-30 holiday once.
It was excellent
Funnily enough they stretch the '30' bit up to 35 now, if not a bit more "
I actually forgot to say "when I was 39"
I was a bit of a novelty. |

I'm an ibiza veteran bee around 15 times since the 90s and noticed it changing to the point where I didn't fit in.
You have the west side San Antonio which is the young 18'30 Brits abroad or "fish and chip bridgade" too old for that.
Then the east side bossa was older more Spanish and Italian tourist's. The last few times I stayed with friends in fugeretas which is close enough to bossa if you want to party but far enough away if you wanted a nice meal and a quiet night.
Sadly I watched the east turn into a rich man's paradise where I was priced out so didn't quiet fit there. Plus those people from that horrible Essex show started taking over!
Combine that with clubs closing at 3am and Space closing done and the clampdown on particular types of fun ruined it for me.
Gone are the free love hippy dippy days when no one cared how you dressed or how much money you had we were all one under the love dove
Still enjoy yourself |

No one cares, I went on the beach in a bikini as a fat 35 year old and no one batted an eye lid |

Dude I was out there on my own in June, admittedly I didn't hit the clubs, but outside cafe del Mar, and cafe mambo there were all ages enjoying themselves, and no one cared!
You do you! |

I doubt anyone will really care. There's no age limit that says you can't go. And so long as you have a good time that's the main thing!! Enjoy and wish I was going too!! |

Ibiza is for all ages. Obviously there’ll be some places that get a mainly younger crowd, but sure you’ll still have an amazing time. Kuhmaras for sunset, Ibiza town, Pikes or Pacha for evening would be my advice. Enjoy |

I love Ibiza as it’s an amazing mix of different ages, sizes and backgrounds so I never feel uncomfortable. You’ll have an amazing time. It if you can try not to stay in San Antonio as that’s a bit gnarly and more young people after cheap drink and drugs. Much prefer the Bay side or pretty much anywhere else close to the nightlife and bars |

We're both grandparents now and visit Ibiza every year for clubbing. Faithless at Pikes was amazing but overall the music in all clubs was far too tame. Even DC-10 failed to deliver. Glitch Festival in Malta for us next year. |

Never too old for ibiza my guy! You'll meet lots of old school ravers and possibly some older than yourself. Have fun |

Ibiza is for all ages! Just go for it and enjoy.
I just had a solo trip there for my 50th birthday this year. I hired a car and headed to the North of the island. Danced in the beach venues, sunset beach partied, ecstatic dance, all nighter in the countryside with brilliant djs, loads of snorkeling in the daytime and gorgeous healthy food.
I mixed with people all ages and nationalities.. That's the beauty of Ibiza.
My recommendation is to get yourselves off the beaten track and you won't notice age at all.
Enjoy!

Been a few times, first when I was 18 and last time when I hit 40, yes the vibe has changed over the years, but you will not stick out. Nobody cares, just enjoy it, try and get to the private after parties, they are the best. |

Went to Ibiza last year. Got talking to a son who was there with his mother. American. He had done a uni dissertation on the club scene and hospitality. Him and his mum were out till all hours every night at the big mega clubs. It was his pilgrimage. The mum loved it. |
