As a newbie to the forums ive replied a few times but read quite a lot without comment. I have found them to be entertaining and even educational.Most people are friendly however i do find it slightly irritating when people comment "oh not another repeat thread about ......" if its a repeat thread just don't read it instead of leaving negative comments. Why even comment that you've read it all before. Aren't you the lucky ones then cos as a newbie i and lots of others haven't read them ! |

I would suggest any newbie who is thinking of posting a subject should perhaps think, and look in the search box to see if it has been discussed and they maybe will find the answer to whatever question they have,
Repeat threads come in many different forms, from joking ones snog or avoid type ones.
Single blokes - look at my profile and tell me what I am doing wrong.
Or a specific question on using the site or a problem encountered - these threads the answer will almost certainly be found if you search.
That is what the search is there for, and I have used it before, instead of posting a new thread.

Nope. I agree with the O.P.
There's nothing wrong in repeating threads.
I want to hear what current forumites think or say. Not what someone said two years ago.
Does no harm.
Mind you - I don't agree with the O.P. telling people when they may comment and when they may not.
If they want to express boredom. Let them. |

Thanks it wasn't on a post of mine. It was on someone elses. I just got a bit defensive for them as they hadnt been on long either. I try to live by the rule if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say anything. And yes i used the search for repeat thread lol |

Yes I am a great believer in that as well, I suppose some OP's bite more than others
I personally haven't an issue with repeat threads, just think the search could be utilised better

Well I haven't an issue with repeat threads my point was that even something from 2 years ago would still have the same answer
And if the search was utilised they could then bring back to life dead threads |

I agree with what you say, but at the end of the day it's down to people being lazy, whats easier.....trawl through page after page of old threads to find your answer or start a new one? |
