"My name is EmDee & my husband has recently got diagnosed with a brain tumour. I don’t know what to do or how to carry on. "
Em... I'm so very sorry about your husband's diagnosis.
Are you in contact with MacMillan?
Do you have anyone around you?

Yes he is,we have family but not told them yet. I don’t know when the ‘right’ time will be. It’s weird because he still looks so well. The tumour is tiny, only 5mm so he’s being monitored by the hospital with regular mri scans.
Thanks for the virtual hugs |

So Sorry EmDee. I know a bit about brain haemorrhaging but not so much about tumours. As I understand it you will need to embrace for a lifelong thing in terms of checking for its return. I've been there with the lifelong diagnosis - and I found complete acceptance early on made it much easier to help look after someone. Somehow I just completely accepted it. And perhaps make use of the people you can talk to too. And, obviously, be positive! It's small, so hopefully early in its development. I don't know what you are like, but to be there for him you might need people to be there for you. I did a huge amount (pretty much all) the caring on my own as it worked out easier that way, but people's various situations can be so different of course, as are the illnesses themselves. So I'd say consider any help on offer, but don't worry about being shrewd about help too (if it's not 'helping' help you don't have to accept it). When things are diagnosed as serious, the NHS etc can be flexible for various needs, so don't be afraid to ask about anything that you can think of, would like or require. pt |
