I do four sets of 8-10reps working up to my last heaviest set of 6-9reps.

Final sets are-

Squats 150kg

Deadlifts 160kg

I only really flat barbell bench as a secondary exercise with uncline bench dumbbell at about 36kg dumbbells.

I do seated dumbbell shoulder press working up to 32kg ish

It does vary from day to day and I throw in cardio days fairly frequently, ie jump rope 1/2hr/punch pads/punchbag, some running but I prefer to do that in bad weather or winter, not a fan of too much sun exposure.

"I only really flat barbell bench as a secondary exercise with uncline bench dumbbell at about 36kg dumbbells"

Meaning incline bench dumbbells being my primary chest exercise, that and wide grip dips with my feet forward not behind, I burn out on these as many as I can for 4 sets, supersetting with stomach crunches off a bench.

Little clacton

My PB (not workout for 3 months though, lost all motivation.)

Bench press 102kgs (3 sets,4,2 then 1 rep)

Seated shoulder press think best was 64kg barbell for reps/sets

Squat,use to only do 60kg ( I workout in my garden)so was a front squat(not on back)

T-bar row 70kg for sets/reps

I've always done 6 sets, with trying to do 6-10 reps in general

I've muscle imbalance all over the place

That's really good, I'm too short and heavy to get any good times, I do my best to ignore that and just enjoy the music, as long as I push myself all the way.

Get on the cable machines if you have them, good for correcting muscle imbalance

Edinburgh-ish

I'm so rubbish at keeping track of weights!

Managed sets of hip thrusts at 140kg the other week and a while back a final set of squats at 90kg.

Best deadlift was ages ago at 115kg and struggling to get past 100kg at the moment.

My gym is great and do classes with plenty bar work but it's always varied (with some enforced cardio) so I'm not always working on the same thing each time.

Yes hand wraps. Good point if you use hand wraps a belt would probably be needed too.

I personally feel a need to exercise regularly. I think it depends on the person, their lifestyle etc.

It can be addictive. Especially chasing numbers, personal bests

Some great numbers here, Fabbers!

As well as absolute numbers, I'd recommend also keeping track in terms of your relative strength (eg, is your deadlift 1/1.5/2 x your bodyweight etc).

In general, a 60kg squat is much more difficult if that's what you weigh; less so if you weigh 100kg...

I mean I’m not unfit. Years of running up and down scaffolds, but I don’t work anymore and I’m waiting for some blood tests results tomorrow. I’ve got the feeling things are gonna have to change.

Erm I use the weighty machines, adjust the weights from the very bottom to just above middle, and do 3 reps of 15-20 on each.

Either legs or upper body/ chest.

And treadmill and or bike start and end.

When you say 26.2m, do you mean the marathon?

Women's marathon WR is 2hr, 14min and 4s.

Men's WR is 2hr 1min and 9s.

Eliud Kipchoge did get around a men's marathon in 1hr 59min and 40s, but it's unofficial.

To answer the gym question, I no longer lift for "serious numbers" due to pelvic organ prolapse. I now lift for reps but at lighter weights, so typically 35kg for incline bench; 12kg x2 for dumbbell shoulder press and around 50kg for the lat pulldown. My 1 rep max on the incline bench is 47kg, but that's after doing reps with lighter weight. I use the regular 20kg bar. I can do 60kg on the lay pulldown but only for a couple of reps.

I don’t use wrist straps for a max lift.

But will for repetitive heavy lifts in a WOD.

Mixed grip for max lifts and hook grip for WOD xx

"I’m not friends with gym. I’m really good at resting for loooong periods between sets.

Running PB’s

5k - 24 mins. I’m a long distance runner so that was super speedy for me.

26.2m 1:59:06

35m 3:07.25

100m 16:31.49

"

Those are fab stats. I just tried my new trail runners today as I am forcing myself to get back into running again after being lazy for a year. Really wish I hadnt let myself get unfit, most depressing.

"Squat 140kg

Deadlift 170kg

Bench 110kg

Can't bench for toffee.

Not lifted for max for a while.....just in a "let's try this" phase in my training

Same here bud. I can't get my head round the bend in back people do on bench press. I'd love to get to a gym that has atlas stone's and stuff. But too expensive at minute "

There's a few knocking about. But too old to start strong man.....most are retiring at my age.

Need to get out of this box gym I'm in and get back to a blood and sawdust one

I'm not really sure what my PBs are as I've never done a 1rm on any of my big lifts. I'm not training for powerlifting so never really saw the point of them.

I tried kickboxing but I was rubbish, tried mma but it was brutal before finding my calling as a pro wrestler.

Not back on deadlifts yet, but the best I did a few years ago was a couple of reps at 120kg. Technique was part of my issue.

Squats I avoid like the plague; they don’t do my knees any favours and I just don’t like the actual movement itself.

So my best thing currently is leg press, 4 x 8 @ 217kg, full ROM with 3sec eccentric (plus 3 progressive warm up sets). If you’re wondering why 217kg, the leg press sled itself weights an irritatingly awkward 47kg.

I’m rubbish at keeping track at what I lift from week to week so my body is always guessing!!

Some incredible numbers in here and it’s inspired me to set new targets for my Big 5 heavy lifts….PB’s will come in December lol!!

Coast to coast fum rife, my current PB is under 11 hours. Not bad for a 175 mile ride.

London to Brighton bike ride, 3hr 45 mun. That wasn't bad, considering I never really did much tra.ining for it
