Does anyone know the definitive definition of these terms?

As a guy who only dresses in lingerie for erotic stimulation I’d like to know.I don’t dress in day wear, wig or use make up so I don’t try to “pass”

My understanding is that there is no hard and fast definition.

As a generalization TS is a whole different ball game from TV or CD. TS refers to trans sexual which is a person who identifies as the gender other than their assigned birth gender.

CD refers to crossdresser TV refers to transvestites. There is a huge amount of crossover between these terms and when they are used. As a guide for me in my experience cross-dresser refers to someone who dresses in the clothing of the opposite gender. Transvestite refers to someone who includes wig makeup and other accessories to appear more like the opposite gender. In other words goes beyond just clothing.

Bus technically transvestite and cross-dresser actually mean the same thing. It's just that in common usage certainly on the scene TVs will generally have gone that extra step over and above just items of clothing. Hope this helps. But at the end of the day labels are just labels you do you darling x

i would like to be forced to fully dress (very slutty of course), fully feminized head to toe and made or forced in some way to sexually pleasure kinky, hung and Dominant men. i believe i'd be classified as a submissive sissy or tranny.

Careful with the use of the T word. There are some who see that as an offensive term. Definitely a case of know your audience

I'd go with that, although i recently read that 'cross-dresser' is now the modern accepted term for 'transvestite'.

Whilst both *generally* wear the underwear & clothing of the opposite gender for sexual stimulation, to me a cross-dresser is someone who doesn't shave/wear makeup/use breast forms/wigs etc.

Jennie knows all about the hard and fast!

One thing about labels is that people give them a bad rap sometimes, and yes the can sometimes be too restrictive but at the same time they can help quickly describe short hand about certain things. They are good to know and use, but should always be understood (by everyone) that very few things are ever as black and white as a labels use.

This is not just TS/TV/CD related.

Personally I like that there is a different use between TV and CD. Again because it helps cover more ground instead of lumping all under one label.

There is also another one. The HPW which stands for Hairy Panty Wearer. This is pretty much as it sounds but it's often used as a pejorative.

Thanks all

I know that I am different from those who dress in female Clothing as a way to relax and feel at peace. My periods in lingerie are specifically related to sexual arousal and orgasm after which I go back to normal attire

In my view...

Transexual (TS)...

is self-defining as a different sex to the one you are born with.

(Obviously this is where it gets political. Some people want there to be an operation involved - ie an 'OP' (or at least for someone to be 'pre-OP') - but when do you actually start the process? As an adult or a kid? And what if you don't want the process, but still want to be trans? ie to just be called a woman. Are you then a complete woman with complete Women's Rights, or perhaps a transwoman (or a transman etc) with perhaps just very similar rights? Some people who have completely physically transitioned simply drop the world 'trans' and use woman or man etc. This seems to be ok for a lot of people as a label, but can be an issue in sport and health - so the 'trans' label will never fully go away I think.

Tranvesitism (TV)...

is striving to fully pass as another sex on a regular basis (perhaps with make up and gender-recognised clothing etc, but some lucky people can do it quite 'naturally' too).

Cross Dressing (CD)...

I'm a CD. It's just getting hold of the 'other sex' clothing (ideally buying them, fellas!) and 'passing' as close as you wish to 'on the day'. I usually do it for sexual reasons, though sometimes for my own comfort. I never go in public in full CD mode, but I do sometimes go out wearing women's t-shirts or wear shorts with freshly shaved legs. I've got that type of body and don't care what people think really. I'll never be a TV though.

On Fab...

It seems that TS, TV and CD can be called 'trans' or 't-girls' on Fab. Because I don't like confusion I don't use either of those terms, as I'm a CD and often people only mean TS or TV (It seems that sometimes trans is just TS, sometimes just TV - and sometimes both and including CD!).

For me, 'trans' should be a legal term for transitioned or transitioning (which includes stated intent), but unless it does ever become a legal term - and I think it eventually will - people will say what they want in places like Fab of course.

IMO the labelling in the whole area isn't super-great, but society as a whole is still clearly working all this out. Unfortunately a lot of people are doing it like angry tribal teenagers a lot of the time sadly, with unfair accusations like 'terf' and 'woke' flying around making it impossible to see sense anywhere at times.

TV/TS Forum...

I'd like to see Fab have a TV/TS forum. I was always in two minds over what to call it, but Fab's own labelling is ultimately good enough I think. CD'ing is kind-of everywhere these days, and the Lounge is also for everything too of course.

Just Having 'Fun'...

In my view people hardly need a label to just wear knickers and feel sexually hot, more comfortable, relaxed or just different etc - though lingerie designed for the female body on hairy men just looks gross to me - but I do personally object to men sneaking on their partner's underwear (I always wonder if they wash it after) and even offering them out - that is just a gross and disrespectful empowerment thing in my view. Men can be such gross perverts sometimes. Especially when the right type of person reaches a certain age! The last thing I'd want if I was a woman is some of the wild perverts I've met on Fabguys stumble obnoxiously into their public toilets. And just wearing matching colour/accessory outfits like Eddy Izzard yet expecting 'special rights' has always equalled absolutely nothing but 'spoilt man' attention seeking to me. Clothing itself is just clothing at the end of the day. And as a species we seem almost genetically compelled to spoil certain males. Even when they wear a dress! Can you imagine Izzard's female equivalent thriving like he has? She couldn't ever have happened, even as a comedian. That might seem like me being a bit of a 'silly' terf, but I've just always been really big on women's rights.

What, women's clothing? I do actually own a few 'male bras' (the nice type that look like zero-depth female bras, not the weird bondage type ones gay muscle men sometimes wear) and they don't really cost much if you shop around (in the UK or abroad). Admittedly, some fetish shops charge a fortune for things they get from China for pennies, and hand-made 'artisan' stuff is always expensive obviously.

My problem is the amount I buy! Thinking about it now, I have at least 5 pairs of women's shoes - or 'footwear' really. And I'm not really a shoe person! I buy a lot of things on request sometimes I think. pt
