"No idea, I thought they were meant to be showing the guys how it's done "
Getting to the WC final and winning the Euros is greater achievement than the men's team. 1966 was quite a long time ago now.
But let's not take away the women's teams. Spain have come up from almost disaster and now hold all the women's WCs at the various age groups. England have come this far when it only turned pro in 2018. |

No it's not a greater achievement, the 2 teams achievements need to stop being compared because there's a big gap in the quality of football |

Were they both 'underdogs'?
This is cool if so. |

"Are we playing spot the casual misogyny?"
Not at all. Usually when the England team lose (male and female teams) every excuse in the book is used instead of people just saying they weren't good enough on the pitch to win x |

"What excuses will be given now England have lost??
Funniest answer wins the world cup but you'll have to go to Spain to pick it up "
We came second. 1966 was last time we played in a final. Well done ladies |

Bronze was really shit and should have passed the ball instead of running into a group of players to lose the ball and concede the only goal.
Like that you mean? |

Bronze definitely made a massive mistake, yes. Things like that happen in football, even to the best players as you well know.
I'm just sick of the comparisons.
Spain deserve to win the WC. The shit that the Spanish women's game has put up with in recent years is ridiculous and they have stuck two fingers up to it and won everything going in terms of women's WCs. Enhorabuena, España. |

In raw comparison, getting to the WC final and winning the Euros is greater achievement than the men's team, who, since 1966, have not got to a WC final or won the Euros. That is a fair comparison. The two teams play against the best in the world/Europe at their respective tournaments.
However, the two sets of teams are totally independent of one another and so comparison of the "quality" or whatever other word you want to use is nonsense. Just as we don't compare women and men directly in other sporting achievements, e.g. women's 100m times v men's. |

Any comparison between the two is nonsense because they're independent as you said but if we're going to compare the we can say the England under 21s are better than both as they actually won |

Men or women... That seems to be really important. |
