He has sent them a good luck message as does his daughter Princess Charlotte but should he actually be there ?
The prime minister isn't going either, should he be there ?
If it was the men playing do you think they would be there ? |

You’re right, they would be there for the men’s team. This man is paid mullions every year to be a figure head - go be a figure head Wills |

I am quite surprised he's not going, to be fair - he is President of the FA and this is our first global final since 1966. As they say, the optics are not good.
But at the same time, if he doesn't want to, that's fine too - though I'd have thought he'd want to be there. I'd have happily snapped up an all expenses paid trip! |

"I agree that if it was the men, someone would be there.
They'd be fighting over the free tickets."
He’d be there with his family. And the PM certainly would be |

"He visited them before they flew out. He has sent them a personal public message of support with his daughter. It is one hell of a trip to Australia and back for one football game."
You can already see the headlines, highlighting the exact costs of flying the next in line to the throne to the other side of the world at short notice for one football match.
This is assuming he could go anyway without breaking previously agreed commitments. |

"We don't know what else is going on in his home life or working life. The man can't be in two places at once."
This is also a good point. We don't know what else would have been cancelled to get him to Oz - some equally deserving events would have missed out.
The family thing I put less by. It's not a regular 9-5 job where he gets weekends off. |

I even read on twitter as it was called back then that him and Harry argued about the affair. It’s probably not true but the Prince of pegging tweets were very funny |

It's more than one football game..it's a World Cup Final , and tbh it's nothing to me if he goes or not but ..but ..he had since the semi final win to get there..l think he should be there but that's only my opinion .if it really ment that much to him he would be there . |

Simple answer - yes. Guarantee he’ll be there when England make the mens World Cup final in 2026 (never too early to start the optimism)
Yes, it’s a long flight to Australia, but he’s not exactly going to be licking his knees in his economy seat is he? Or standing in queues for 2 hours to get a luke warm pint of over priced Carling at the bar.
He’s President of the FA and, while I’m not a royalist at all, he is representative of the head of state. He should he there. |

I suspect that they weren't expected to get to the final therefore PW didn't clear his diary. I don't think he can just drop everything. The not wanting to fly thing butters no parsnips with me, he could go first class with his security people on an ordinary flight. |

Think they were favourites before the tournament began, especially being European champions |

"I think they are number 2 seeds, with the USA number 1 seeds, which almost by definition means they were expected to get to the final."
So it seems. my mistake.

I’d imagine William has more than one diary. One for when he’s Prince of Walesing. One for when his having trysts with Rose Hanbury. One for being President of The FA. He’s been President since 2006, it’s not like he hasn’t had any notice of possible finals England may reach. |

They knew from the beginning he wouldn't be able to attend.
They've said that.
They've also said they have received multiple messages from the Royal family during the tournament.
It's not a last minute thing . |

"A long way to go & watch a poor quality football match."
Ah don't worry, it won't be long before the men are getting hyped up to win the world cup.
And inevitably getting knocked out.

You misunderstood, I was commenting on the poor quality of the tournament being played at present as was the discussion & not the overpaid snowflake millionaires men who play at a vastly higher level & give much more entertainment. |
