Fleetwood Mac V Fleetwood Mac

OMG so excited, we have got tickets........early Mac,
Green Manalishi, oh well, Bob Welch, Chicken shack.....John Mayalls blus breakers, Eric Clapton, Jeff eck, Jimmy Page, all were in it. The Mac sold more albulms in 1968 ( or one of the late sixties ) than the stones and Beatles put together.
Then Alchemy, Buckingham Nicks: I only wanted a guitarest: Mick Fleetwood, they come as a set.
White album in a week, then Rumours.
So few albulms are timeless ( OK Computer and wish you were here ), silver springs ommitted. Sounds the same as it did it did in 77. Will be the beethoven for future generations.
Favourite Mac songs:
So Afraid
Book of Love
Rhiannon ( You tube the live whistle test version, )
Tango in the night
Monday Morning
Songbird
Go your own Way
Sod it, we have tickets, find out yourselves.......a fan H&H xx |

I think I'm a bit bias as I've only really (knowingly) listened to their early stuff but I really love it. I should make an effort to listen to them properly.
Albatross is the song I listen to when I'm trying to relax in the bath or sleep. Just a lovely piece of music |

Glasgow |
I saw/ heard Fleetwood Mac in Green's Playhouse at a Glasgow Uni charities gig c 1969, supported by a band called Eclection. It should have been supported by Fairport Convention - the reason I bought tickets.
Great band. Great night. |

They've always been a great band and their sound improved but was always tight. However Buckingham and Nicks took them to another level. One of my all time great tracks is Tusk. A difficult one for most people's taste but I love it |

"Is there an album collection in the UK which doesn't have at least one copy of Rumours?
It's one of the few albums which doesn't have a single poor track."
Yes, mine. It's overproduced. |

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. All were in what, Fleetwood Mac or the Bluesbreakers? So far as I know Jeff Beck has bever been in either band and while Eric and Jimmy played with John Mayall, I don't think either have been in Fleetwood Mac. All 3 played in the Yardbirds though. |

I'm a huge fan of the Peter Green era of Mac. The Buckingham/Nicks era did little for me, a few songs that were 'okay' but nothing on the level of Need Your Love So Bad.... |

Having consulted my book by Steve Clarke, I stand corrected, however am grateful for having to pick it up and have a reread!! That's my specialist subject on mastermind screwed, lol x |

Love Fleetwood Mac's stuff especially from Rumours onwards.
I did go to see them play once in Manchester. I have to say that they were the most disappointing band I've ever seen live as Mick Fleetwood amongst others seemed so drugged up or d*unk that he could hardly speak and the band as a whole struggled to keep the show going and stay in tune.
For me their records will always be high up in my collection and often get played, but as for watching them live again I probably wouldn't.
The documentary about Rumours in particular was very interesting too and hell I'm still in love with Stevie Nicks of the late 70's.... |

I prefer Peter greens fleetwood mac but I also love the other stuff.
We have just got tickets to see them at the O2. Really looking forward to it. We saw them at wembley about 20 years ago with Jethro Tull supporting. One of the best concerts I've been to. |
