Threads develop a life if their own and can go in multiple directions at once.
In this case it took both a flippant, jokey path and also a comment on how that message in an inbox does indeed cause the poster the ick. Both valid.
There is really enough to get offended by in the forums already. Im not sure this was intended to cause offence, nkr was it offensive.

I think you’ve misunderstood my comment and the OP’s tone. I interpreted the thread to be said with sarcasm. i.e. when I receive a message from someone saying ‘mmmmm’ I find it cringey and will delete or block. That’s also why I think the OP also said ‘feel icky now?’ |

When someone sends "mmmmmm" in a message she instantly deletes the message and blocks the person. Because the "mmmmmm" makes her feel icky.
