Fybro warriors

I'm sat here in absolute agony since about 3 last nite. And all because I went to town for a wander round the shops.

That's my fybro flaring up. I did nothing strenuous and it's really affecting my need to get out n do something with the fear of how bad n how long il be in pain.

Do you have any ideas or things u hav tried to motivate urself to get up.

I don't have fibromyalgia but do have lots of pain related issues and am similarly suffering. All I can say is keep using whatever therapies or techniques you usually use to manage flare ups, get advice from any professionals involved in your care, and pace yourself.

My need for Cherry Lucozade motivates me.

The muscles at the back of my thighs are still painful from q day out on Saturday.

I find resting, slow walks, heat or cold and painkillers help.

I have fibro and can completely sympathise with you. I'm a week into a flare-up and currently spending most of my time in the bath!

I would just advise you to take it easy. Pushing yourself when you are already hurting will likely exasperate things in the long run...

I'm just trying to have a "fuck it" approach to everything this week. The housework etc can just wait, everything will get done eventually. Just take things easy on yourself.

Sending lots of hugs, I hope your pain eases soon.

One of my kids has fibro and I know from experience that sod all helps

Gentle yoga can be really good. I was also given a small clip-on tens machine from the pain clinic, and it's been pretty helpful sometimes too x

I try n be careful not to push myself . I know alcohol can effect my fybro but we hav to live. I went out Friday nite danced the nite away. Sat n sun I cdnt move my pains were terrible n the yesterday I went to town for a walk round the shops n I hav paid again for it. So fed up with it

I'm so hopin I see them soon as it's making me feel like I can't do anythin without bein in pain

26. Was diagnosed at 18 after years of drs appointments and physio appointments. It took a physio to spot it and get a referral. Their first symptom was around 5 years old. They had terrible pains in their legs and ankles. Drs called it growing pains. They all missed the stomach issues, the brain fog, the anxiety and everything else that goes with it.

I don't have fibro, but I do have something with very similar problems that come with fibro. As frustrating as it is, it's better to listen to your body and not try and push to do things when you shouldn't. Sometimes motivation to get up and do something isn't the problem, it's the acting on it that is. When even the simple things can wipe you out, it's best to find ways to help yourself make it easier. I ended up getting myself a mobility scooter for doing things like wandering round the shops, I was really self conscious and embarrassed at 1st about using it, I didn't feel old enough to need one and thought people would be judgemental seeing me in it, but that all quickly disappeared when I realised how much more I could do without getting the same sort of payback for doing it. Sometimes there are things that you just have to do and know you have to accept the consequences, other times it's best to pace yourself, listen to your body and take a break. It's a horrible way to have to live life, but if you can, make adjustments and find ways to make things easier on yourself and you'll be able to do that little bit more.

Worried I may have this,my estranged mother was diagnosed with this in her 40s, and I am now 44 and I did 20k steps yesterday, and my ankle gave way and I ended up falling.

It's not just the falling that makes me wonder, I have osteoarthiritis in both knees so my GPs always put everything down to that, but I am always swollen and in pain, I had temperature problems with my legs, and constant pain and inflammation, not to mention all the other symptoms, but as I have hashimotos, they say it's down to that. I can barely walk some days. It's getting me down.

Hope you manage to get some relief soon OP. sounds debilitating x
