All these people who hark back to some heritage in another country .

If your born here your English or British depending where my ancestors came from Ireland. I'm born in Yorkshire I'm a Yorkshireman and English man.but I do do a mean Irish accent. But why people hark back to somewhere they didn't actually come from don't get

If your parents came from somewhere else they can do .but if your born here you come from here.

My apologies then Mr pickle the interesting thing is

As this proves DNA shows mixes in all of us

But at the end of day its where you yourself are born.

I don't care what colour anyone is if your born in this country then your English or welsh or Scottish or Irish if your born there. Mixed DNA from wherever makes little difference .

Thinking about it, the story I heard from my aunt on my father's side how my great grandparents ended up in the UK, my grandfathers mother fled to the UK with another man from Belgium after she murdered her husband, and my grandmother's mother fled Southern Italy after getting her husband killed who was involved with Italian Mafia. My aunt then joked about sometimes wanting to kill my uncle and there must be some kind of family tradition where the wife kills the husband

Only learned about that a couple years ago and really fascinated me

"Thinking about it, the story I heard from my aunt on my father's side how my great grandparents ended up in the UK, my grandfathers mother fled to the UK with another man from Belgium after she murdered her husband, and my grandmother's mother fled Southern Italy after getting her husband killed who was involved with Italian Mafia. My aunt then joked about sometimes wanting to kill my uncle and there must be some kind of family tradition where the wife kills the husband

Only learned about that a couple years ago and really fascinated me

That's crazy! Do you think they spoke about it on their first date?

P.s good to see you back "

Never thought to ask my grandparents about it, maybe I will soon enough, would definitely be an interesting conversation to have with someone you're getting to know though

And thanks, good to see you too

It matters because Pickle likes to make an awful lot for things about race.

I'm sure other people can see it but 'where are you really from?' is a question that 'white racists' would ask when someone of a different race says there from say 'Manchester'.

You probably have to understand the OP to see the undertones half of the time.

Thanks for reading me this morning Jesus

Anyway this thread was OF COURSE in jest about that though I only started it because I’m genuinely curious and it has gone well.

Yes I care a lot about race and therefore talk about it. God forbid I care about something that has shaped my experience. Many people on this forum talk about their experiences with things that make them marginalised and nobody cares but Steve talks about race too much. Steve does too many threads. Steve alienates the older people in here. Change the record or just leave me alone
