It depends, I have in the past from patients usually something littl that seems to mean something to them if you take it, for example a patient was a painter he gave me one of his paintings I knew I'd never hang it anywhere it wasn't my style but he was so proud and wanted me to take it so I did (I di actually still have it in a box)
The on the other hand the amount of junk people try and give me for the kids, broken toys and such, no I'm not taking it.

No, free is good but freedom from stuff can also be a good thing.
I don’t want to come across like a Zen master here, just that sometimes not having things or dealing with things is worth a lot.
Why, what’s on offer? |

"I'll explain my hissy.......
These 'gifts' are just clearing out jobs to me.... I mean it's just work cos I end up being the one to get rid.
Just fuck off with your 'gifts'
"
Yes! I have a couple of friends who run a catering company. He always offloads crockery that's no longer in fashion, cooking equipment etc.
Sometimes it feels like a clearing out job and they're not doing it because they think I'll love it. It just saves them having to get rid of the items. It's slightly irksome. |

I think the words “on offer” have had their meaning stretched quite a lot |

We laughed the other day because a 'protester' approached me offering free information about his frankly, reprehensible cause. I held my hand up and said "no! Don't even look at me".
His face was a picture .
So no, I don't always take the free stuff that's offered to me |

I forgot about free Information, I'd say that's the worst of them all, I dread the "I'll tell you something for free" moment |

Generally no. If I'm in a department store and someone hands me a small free vial of cologne I'll accept it with thanks.
If I'm walking down the street and I'm offered Lucky White Heather then I'll politely decline. |
