Dubai & Nottingham

I’m doing a bit of a UK tour from Thursday for 24 days. Can’t really do more than 200km per day ( 4800km in total) , I have a small 4WD and want a bit of adventure & late summer photography. Have a few meets organised so not looking for any more .

Starting from Nottingham , please tell me places to visit that get away from people and make good sunrise or sunset photography.

Snowdonia.

One of the most beautiful places in the UK, and landscape photography option a plenty!

Newcastle

The Northumberland coast is beautiful, not resort type beaches more quite coastal villages.

Lake District is always good for photos, even in the rain.

Having no plans and just seeing where you end up is the best way to go. Enjoy your adventure

Kx

If you’re venturing south then Dartmoor is stunning in a bleak and desolate way. Cornwall has some amazing places too, such a rugged coastline full of history and stories.

Thanks

I love Northumberland. From Bamburgh to Berwick is amazing sunrise photography with the castles in silhouette , then holy island & Farne Islands , have done a few times. Can be hard to get accommodation close to the coast, there’s very little , but perfect for campervans

Newcastle upon Tyne

Northumberland - beautiful deserted, unspoilt beaches, interspersed with castles and fantastic countryside with no one else around.

It really is a well kept secret. I fell in love with it first time I visited and have been back so many times.

La la land

Not sure if it's a bit too far. But what about the Cambrian mountains? Much less visited than Eryri and Bannau Brycheiniog national parks. Easily won't see another person on the majority of the peaks there. It's stunning but I'm biased

London

You're not using it as a reason to meet with all the sexy fabbers around the country?!

You and me are different people! But also anywhere rural can be pretty good. Too many to list!

.

The best thing to do?

Ask the women you're meeting, even if it is a long way off and you're not thinking about it, where they would recommend near them for good scenery. Locals will often know good places near them.

Head for the village of Castleton, park up at the visitors centre and then head for Winnats Pass.

Views are amazing

Yeah I love it there.

If you carry on straight instead of taking the left up winnats pass , after a couple of miles, the road is collapsed, you can walk up and you end up near the entrance to one of the big caves. The area there is amazing views, and it’s pretty awesome mountain biking, too, there are some 6 foot jumps were the road, completely disappears.

And carry on going up, then take a right and I’m very sharp left, almost coming back on yourself, you can park right at the summit of mam tour, looking down towards Barber booth. These are some of my favourite spots in the peaks.
