Yes they are. I really enjoy meeting up and having a walking social.

I'd say yes. Makes a change from the traditional coffee and cake (though I wouldn't say no to that!).

They definitely are. I’ve had dates in here that started with a walk! And in everyday life.

Love them

Chippenham Malmesbury area

Never done one but I love walking and chatting so this would be a perfect social meeting for me; I'm also a cyclist so I'd really enjoy a cycling social as well... Any offers?

"Are they good to get to know each other? "

No. I prefer face to face with few distractions.

Walking, you're not looking at each other. Trying not to step in dog shit, avoiding getting run over by a bus.

Yes, a couple of my favourites have been walking round a park and walking round the grounds of a stately home, though a board game cafe was a great option once too

Absolutely OP. Especially in Autumn, when the air is crisp and the conversation is warm and the mulled wine in a paper cup is hot.

I love going for a 'social-stroll' because the atmosphere is casual, informal and there are moments of comfortable silences - watching other people, getting distracted by the fauna, interjecting the conversation with spontaneous smiles and laughter. It's a non-formulaic way to break the ice and make a new friend, at the very least.

I like the extra effort you have to make when walking to get eye contact, you can stop & gaze at each other every now & then and can hold hands more naturally!

If she’s a bit uncomfortable with lots of direct eye contact on first date it makes it much less pressure for her and doesn’t feel awkward.

My last walking date was in COVID & we ended up in the toilets at Rushclife country park !

I love walking dates. I need the other person to set the pace and a time limit, because I really love walking and if I’m not reigned in, it will be 5 hours later and 20 miles away from where we started.

Yes the best date I ever went on (I've had like four so I know what I'm on about) was a walking date... we went to a fancy garden/national trust place and spent hours walking around getting to know each other... I could really do with something like that in my life again.
