- some of the nicest coffee’s I’ve had have been courtesy of Wetherspoons.
Other than that, Cafe Nero, independent & somewhat obscure coffee-cum-bookshops |

Independent shops. And I'm with the poster above who said about bookshops cum coffee shops. I adore those.
I love certain seasonal offerings from particular chain coffee shops during the year. Generally I'll try to go independent but come Autumn I'm a Starbucks basic bitch. |

There are some great independents near me. One especially I'll go to for their banana bread even more so than their coffee.
But of the chains, Nero gets my vote...and I like the comfort and ease of a chain sometimes! |

"GRO, lovely coffee, enormous cakes and big leather sofas that are old and comfy.
A lovely organic place. Tried that place in Scotland last year."
Did you see the size of the strawberry tarts |

"Black Sheep Coffee and Independents like Bold Street Coffee in Manchester and Liverpool or Ms Athas in Leeds
"
I've been to Bold Street in Manchester and absolutely loved it! I'd also recommend Idle Hands in Manchester too and they do a great selection of sweet pies as well |

Tim Horton's (Canadian brand) have opened a branch in Acton London and very much enjoy their dark roast taken black.
Small chains around London called Black Sheep and their blends are always nice.
Nero is my waiting room one of choice.
I don't like floral, acidic tasting roasts so a lot the Independent places in Wales where I am now are disgusting to me as that seems to be the trend here.
And as an honest tradie also a thumbs up to Greg's coffee with a bacon roll in the mornings |

Rarely drink coffee outside of the home, as i like it strong.
I have a collection of Bialetti stovetop moka pots, right now I'm drinking a strong roast that's basically 8 espresso shots in a large mug with frothed milk.
If i do drink coffee outside, it's always an independent outlet, the chain shops just sell hot milk with a vague coffee taste. |

Independent can be the best but not always. I am very particular with my coffee. It has to be freshly ground and strong with a good crema on top. From the chains Nero or Costa for me. Certainly not starbucks. I recently had both McDonalds and Gregs ones as was desperate for a coffee and nothing else around and to be honest I was pleasabtly surprised. |

Costa can get in the bin with its vile Coca-Cola soya milk.
Nero is usually good, but lots are inaccessible.
Starbucks, almost always wheelchair proof and their soya latte is decent enough.
Independent shops are usually great coffee-wise but if one cannot get inside to order, one will be unlikely to patronise. Java coffee in Manchester is somewhere I used to go (near Oxford Rd) but can no longer get inside it. |

Exactly. Reason why I don’t like independents… acidic roasts are they think that by roasting the bean more it will be better. It won’t.
I don’t like floral coffee either. My dad worked in Colombia for many years and he always brought back coffee with him. It was so fragrant, almost like an infusion. It was ok, but it was not coffee, at least not for me, haha.
Nero is the closest I have to my work, followed by Costa. I’ll have any of the chains as I only have black coffee… |

There’s a couple of awesome independents around me. Chain wise I like the plain dark roast in Starbucks black and steaming hot.
Costa’s is terrible
Neros is ok at times
Tim Hortons - meh it’s ok at a push
Best chain one by far is 200 degrees coffee |

With a name like Costas you are probably expecting me to say Costa but the reality is I am not a coffee person. I had one coffee date there once about 5 years ago and the coffee was better than the date.I have recently had a couple of coffee dates at Starbucks and whilst the flat white I think I had was ok on the first date the 2nd date the iced coffee I had was not.I guess for me coffee should be made hot not with ice. |

"The best coffee we've had was from a small café run by a French couple. Sadly they couldn't make a go of it.
The second best was in a cafe in Madeira ."
Like you, I can remember my best coffee, which was in an independent coffee shop in Byron Bay, Australia.
Good coffee I'd the best thing in the world. Bad coffee is the worst thing in the world! |

The worst coffee we had was in a small village independent. It's rare that I can't drink any cup of coffee but I had to leave this. It tasted like hot water with pepper in it. |

Regular white coffee from maccies is fine. Especially for the price.
Best coffee I've ever had was by an Italian lad, who ran a food van/container in a car MOT/repair yard in Rochdale.
Absolutely outstanding |

If a chain, then Nero's.
I was told in no uncertain terms by a parent today "I hope you are boycotting Costa's". I asked "Is the coffee that bad?" and she replied, "Oh no. That man on the telly was saying everyone's boycotting them because of that trans thing."
I said "what trans thing?"
She replied, "Well I don't know, but it's not right is it ?"
I replied, "One of my good friends is post-op and she's very happy now. Doesn't want to kill herself anymore and has found herself, her life, and her identity. You want me to boycott Costa because she's happy and alive now, mother ?"
She replied, "Well not her. She's alright. But you know what I mean. Anyways, let's not discuss it, you know my views".
Oh I do indeed, mother. I do indeed. |

a village near Haywards Heath in East Sussex |
When on my own and driving some where I pick up coffee from a Macdonalds drive through . They don't sell the pastries I love in proper coffee shops so cannot be tempted plus it's about a pound cheaper and I am a cheap date. |

I think Rwanda is 2nd in the world only to Jamaican Blue Mountain. But the beans used have little bearing , it’s all in the grind |

Nero for the purpose of getting my weekly free coffee. Otherwise tend to head to costa for convenience. A lovely cupcake shop in Yately, hampshire near me that do really nice hot drinks (and of course cakes to die for) |
