"I miss horse riding, will start going again when I sort some money out "
It's good fun, my daughter has just started loaning the first horse I brought, (I sold him 6 years ago) a lovely cob, perfect for her to gain some confidence on, and the yard owner has offered me a free lesson! My thighs and backside are going to ache tomorrow |

Bless you, it's been a while since I last rode, 6 months maybe more!!
I had a bad fall a few years back and bruised and chipped my coccyx pretty badly, but they say your not a rider unless you have fallen off a few times!! |

I'm desperately trying to get that through to my nephew. He is 7 ans been riding since he was 3. He loves it ans lives ponies etc. We have a gymkhana course in the back garden spends hours running round pretending to be in the Olympics but he fell off last year and itsrreally shaken his confidence.
My cousin got him tickets to horse of the year in Dec and tried to get him to ride as she could see how much he loved it. |

Group lessons are reasonably fair! It's when they start wanting their own horse lol |

Our daughter loves riding and spends all weekend at the local stables. Friends say the longer she's interested in horses the later she'll have boyfriends.
Didn't work for Ju though. |

It doesn't have to be that expensive. Our daughter helps out at the stables and this goes towards her lessons. She really enjoys it. |

I have fallen off a few times, but the best thing to do is to just jump back in the saddle!! My daughter has taken after me and is horse mad! I am not looking forward to the day she falls off and she knows it will happen one day!! |

"Going to be having 16 hands between my legs later on this afternoon!!
Aren't I a lucky girl And what kind of horse is it?
Ha ha, yes it's a horse.... Belgium warm blood, going to be doing a spot of dressage "
Suppose it'll make a change from 'undressage' ! |

My sister was exactly the same. Helped out at the yard, got lessons as payment, and now my family has four dobbins! It can be expensive if you make it but you can also do a lot with a fairly small amount of money.
It has this image of being expensive. A few folk at uni thought I was somehow posh because my family had horses. I had to explain that we never went on holiday, had one secondhand car in the family, and that other things were sacrificed so they could afford those horses. |

It can be expensive if you buy all the stuff. Most schools will have hats and body protectors you van use for the lesson and at your daughters age she shouldn't have lessons longer than 20 mins anyway so I woukdnt buy all the garb until she is older and really into it. |

"Surely you only put a dress on a horse to stop people gawping at its cock...!!"
Of course. I hadn't thought of that.
I wonder if girl horse's fajiners are equally disproportionately big compared to their bodies.
Horses are mad. |

I rode when I was younger and loved it. Had a few falls, some rather spectacular one into a puddle of water and piss in the paddock. I smelled pretty delicious in eau de horse piss!
Last rode my tattooist's half welsh cob half shire before my endo kicked off. He can take my fat arse and it was brilliant. I miss the feeling of reigns between fingers |

what about all the stories involving stable boys you read about then lol.
I have never been interested in horse riding, I find hard at times staying on two wheels. Trying to stay on something that can think for itself scares the living daylights out of me. |
