I'm dissapointed that I've called in sick at work for the first time in 37 years.
Have you done anything to dissapoint yourself recently?
P.s feel free to send some sympathy pics, to cheer my day up |

"Im disappointed in you.
My early morning wanking material left me feeling a tad disgusted. Ah well, we move on.
"
I think we're all dissapointed by me today!
Ooh tell us more |

I'd be much more disappointed in someone going in to infect their colleagues or potentially exacerbate their illness. (Obviously there are those who can't call in sick for good reason)
I'm disappointed that I cannot, in fact, do it all. |

"If you're sick you're sick, no reason to be disappointed in yourself. I once needed six straight months off sick.
Today I have been disappointed by my breakfast toast."
Oh, now I don't feel quite so dissapointed. Sorry about the toast! |

Luckily I wouldn't infect anyone, I drove part way to work and realised that I was just being stupid attempting to get in. Backs agony and can barely move.
Hopefully I made the right decision to stay in and rest, to make me feel better for nest week... |

Don't be disappointed. Presenteeism is daft and self-defeating.
Take the time to rest, get better, go back at full strength and smash it.
Or you could just limp on for a week or two, half-arsing it because you feel like shite, potentially passing illness on to your colleagues, who will curse you for coming in?
I know which option I prefer.

"Unless you’re self employed your work would replace you instantly if you were gone. Take time off when you need it. "
Very much this as a supervisor (remember I only have a job because people need to be supervised!) the importance of your own health should out weight the value the higher up corporate have for you as an individual employee. |

Exactly. As much as a lot of companies pretend they care for their employees, we’re all a number at the end of the day. |

Pfffttt.
No guilt here .
Life's too short to stress about that.
I work and I work hard but if I'm unwell I'm unwell.
I could tell you a very long boring story about a guy I worked with who didn't take a day off sick in almost 40years.
I coined the term "work pervert" for him as that what he was.
Anyways an accident at work caused him an injury,he wanted to keep working but off the tools.
Guess what they "couldn't" find a position for him and payed him off with the minimum amount and never gave a shit about all his years of loyal service.
He was gutted. |

Yeah. I've worked with people who really played the sick system and people who'd turn up regardless of how ill they were. At the end of the month they both got the same salary. |
