Dubai & Nottingham

I used to love when a kid , making roll cages for old jeeps and going off road in the Peak District and a little in NZ but haven’t done or owed a 4WD for maybe 25 years.

This weekend it’s a meteor shower with hundreds of shooting stars so going to the desert for a long weekend and need a 4WD to carry camping gear food and go off road but not planning on dune busting , but will be on unsealed dry roads with some big piles of sand to get over

I have no idea what these vehicles nowadays are trailblazer, Pajero,, X-terra , X-trail , montero sport, Teramount , duster, Corolla cross, CX5, ASX or what I need I only know NZ Jeep and shirt wheel base land cruisers and can’t find either of those to hire .

What’s a good high vehicle out these ?

North Bucks

Only ever used a Land Cruiser in that part of the world for dune bashing. No wonder you can’t find one.

Very envious love the desert.

surrounded by twinkly lights

Don't they have a off road club out there, that will normally tell you what's the rage out there.

Watching Clarkson, Hammond and May Dune busting was awesome

When I retire I want something old like this for uk travel, maybe not 50 yrs though! ,,do you have any issues getting parts or MOT ? How many miles on clock ? I’m guessing engine can do 300-400k easily if looked after ?
