So, I have made the decision to become smoke free again and have about 21 hours now since my last smoke!
I have nicotine patches and an inhalator and have been doing ok during the day. But now that I have the evening ahead of me with no plans I am having some stonger cravings. I definitely used to smoke when I was bored or just out of habit.
Please hit me up with any tips or tricks you have to keep those pesky cravings at bay. Any thing I could try to distract myself and stop me eating everything in sight! X |

So cravings only last I believe is 5 seconds then it's dealing wit the mental obsession to it. Don't act on the thoughts and they'll ease in time...
Try mindfulness techniques to distract from the thoughts |

Go for a long walk, provides great clarity. Get moving. Any static activity will get your mind wondering. If you have a park or nature reserve etc then go for an evening walk.
Either way well done on what is hopefully your first day smoke free. |

I tried cold turkey last summer. Was crawling the walls.
I did about a month and caved. Just vape now instead.
I would go for a walk whenever the cravings where ridiculous, but that just ended up as some weird rumination, and I'd end up walking around for hours and not feeling any better.
Mints.
Distraction.
I've quite entirely before for over a year using Champix, but I've struggled since.
Alcohol was an awful factor for me, and historically I'm a very heavy drinker (whoops).
I think with anything like that, it's just reprogramming tehe associations in your mind which is why the first week is the worst. |

Not a smoker so can't empathise but try chewing on celery?
I know lots of people who were heavy smokers who gave up.
Some had a few attempts at it until they got it.
One saved the money in a jar and put it towards a holiday. |
