How do you define it?
Is it just the penetration of fingers, or is it penetration with the addition of clitoral stimulation by use of fingers.
Or is the Clit Stim it's own thing not included under the label of the act of fingering.
I know there is a global definition, but I want to know where you sit on this. Are you different from the global definition? |

I don't think you need to be digitally penetrated to be fingers. Clit stimulation can come in to it but like most things, some women love it, others don't enjoy direct stimulation... it varies a lot. I don't think there's a one size fits all definition. |

I think the global definition is penetration is needed to be classed as fingering. That doesn't mean it's accurate, but if somebody says fingering sexually (again what a word  ) what do you think of?

I don't know. I think of a person's fingers exploring the quim. With or without penetration. I've been fingered a few times before where a lover has slipped their hand inside my knickers whilst we're out and just kind of... I don't want to be graphic. No penetration was involved though.  |

I admit I used to think of it as the global definition, penetration. But as I got older, wiser(ish), more experienced(ish) I realised that it's the whole act of fingers in that area.
The teasing before, continuing to stimulate out just as much as in.

Well, the verb can be used in many ways to mean explored with their hands.
I remember reading "She fingered my lapels" (in what must have been a truly awful book) when young and finding it amusing.
So just a exploration of a ladies soft folds would fit that definition.

Yes! Let's say fuck it to worries about being overly graphic.
That lubrication doesn't naturally go everywhere (lies, it definitely can. Not all the time is my point). It doesn't form everywhere. I like those moments when someone slowly coaxes a finger in and they realise how aroused I am. It's the sort of "foreplay" I relish. |

Fingering oh wow now we are talking. Fingering describes use of the fingers to create and emotion. Musicians pretty much finger all the time in some form.
^^Going off at a tangent, penetration is like playing single notes, play them hard or soft they are still just single notes. Get a couple of dicks and you may be able to play chopsticks.
But fingers you can play single notes, two notes or even chords. Chords can be happy or sad, wild or tame. chord make up entire symphonies - ooops getting carried away there
So to answer the question yes fingering is an amazing words because either musically of physically can generate a whole host of emotions and sensations.
