Much the same as David Beckham and Wayne Rooney did, I’d imagine

Llanelli

Reminded me of the time Becks was laying on the ground and stuck his leg up to trip the other player, just stupid and immature

The way they’ve played, they’re incredibly lucky to still be in it at this point.

Been outplayed to be honest.

Hope we can make it up penalties and then we have at least a chance

Be interesting to see if Lauren James gets vilified like Beckham did or have people grown up. Or will she be saved by England going through

Well done lionesses. Not deserved as Nigeria were the better team but glad they got through.

Hopefully a bit of both.

Although look at how the public treated Saka from Arsenal after his penalty miss. Still work to be done.

James is undoubtedly a good player but there are several in her own team that are currently better and more proven.

"Sweden next round"

Not yet. England face the winners of the Colombia vs Jamaica match next. They can only face Sweden in the final now as they're on the other side of the draw.

Dubai & Nottingham

I saw a bit of the first half at lunchtime in the bar but had to go back to work, couple of cracking shots by Nigeria , one that hit the post and one saved, was convinced they would win!

There was quite a lot of niggling going on off the ball. The Nigerian goalie was also using her own players to push the English players out of the way during corners. I was sat in a good spot to see this happening. Good result in the end. Excellent attendance and great all round support for both teams from a largely neutral crowd.

I know it all worked out in the end...just. But sheer stupidity on her part and we'll miss her in the QF as she's been great up to now.

We looked tired and unimaginative today- let's hope we pick it up again next game!

She's definitely the best player at Chelsea who has a brother who's also at Chelsea, I'll give you that:+)

Feel gutted we did not score in the match. When I saw James walk over a Nigerian player my thoughts on her as a good player has now dwindled

York

Lauren James is still young.

This will be a huge learning curve for her, she loves playing and will learn from this. Nigeria aren't nobodies, and England should be given a little more credit than they are being given. Sometimes teams win games that aren't pretty.. that's football..

James won't be vilified like Beckham was because the women's game is much much nicer.. the crowds aren't hostile, and nonsense like that won't be tolerated. I love going to WSL games way more than I do the men's game for this reason.

Daly, Greenwood, Bright, Earp's, Carter all had great games. Nigeria were great.. everyone is used to the Lionesses winning games comfortably.. but women's world football across the board is being played at a higher level, we've seen that already with some of the big players going out already.. England are in with a good shout, but my gut feeling is it may be Japan.
