My McAfee has expired and I need some new protection but don't really want to pay a fortune.

I know malware has been suggested on here, would that be sufficient?

Any suggestions/recommendations/advice gratefully received.

I thought it was a condition of entry to the forum? You have to wait 7 days and be certifiable.

"actually go Avast it has the top spot for free antivirus software 2013"

I used Avast before switching to Panda. I found it to be memory hungry and it took ages for the PC to load on startup because it was still loading Avast.

I do have a fairly basic lappy which doesn't have oodles of memory.

if u dont have much RAM go avira or panda. got no experience with panda but used avira loads on low end machines

I use more than one - only one resident (permanently running) but different progs have different abilities...

I have Avira for permanent (bit of a resource hog but it's really good), Malware Bytes I scan with regularly for malware/spyware and SAS for unwanted cookies/adware.

For scanning individual files, you can't beat Virus Total I think ... you upload the file to their website, and it tells you what all the major AV programs say about it.

Looks like I'll be running malwarebytes and ccleaner and installing avira.

Is it really bad that I'm somewhat influenced by a forum crush...

Can we not simply use a lap dancers pole? It would separate the men from the boys and give me hours of entertainment.

Yes or course we can,,,,, just as long as there’s an adequate supply of free wet-wipes…… because not everyone is a fan of handling man-crack residue on their slippery pole….
