"I was very surprised to see 66% against gay marriage on the MSN’s homepage “yea or nay” pole… "
It does make one wonder sometimes if what we're being told by the media is an accurate reflection of popular feeling on a given subject. |

The Daily Mail ran an editorial the other day, actually sticking up for the right to gay marriage (I know, I was shocked too).
But some of the readers comments after the article were disgusting. So I wouldn't be surprised if 66% of the population is against the idea. |

I never use Msn. Was that a specifically British poll?"
Yeah it was on the MSN UK homepage....near the bottom.... which is now showing a pole asking...
” As Ashley Cole wins his 100th England cap, should fans just lay off?”
The vote on that one is pretty even atm |

If 2 people are in love ans want to get married whoever they are I don't see the problem. I know some religions are dead against it, I'm a Catholic and the church is up in arms. I just think it is mean spirited and doesn't reflect well on the church. Live it and let live. |

To be honest i dont understand it, but then ive never understood homophobia or racism. There is a film ive watched a few times that i cant remember the title of but it was about a newspaper editer falling in love in the 60s and it was showing you how everything had to be hushed up, its a very interesting film because it shows just how homophobic people where.
People are people, we dont choose how we are born, being homosexual doesnt stop you having feelings for someone, not every hetersexual wants to get married and im sure not every homosexual couple will get married. But if they want to show commitment to each other in my opinion its their right.
At least we have moved forward from when homosexuality was outlawed. But my head just cant get round discrimination |

Mainly the marriage issue. Comments such as "I've always felt "each to their own" however marriage between man and woman needs to be protected." and "Don't be so arrogant Mr Gove, there are other legally and righteously held views on this subject. Marriage is for the procreation of children - if you don't understand that then it is you who are prejudiced."
The article was wrote by Micheal Gove Education Secretary.
However, my favourite quote has to be
"The Bible is the best selling fiction book, just like 50 shades of grey.."

It does make one wonder sometimes if what we're being told by the media is an accurate reflection of popular feeling on a given subject."
And it's REALLY easy to skew an MSN poll.... not exactly YouGov are they.... |

But surely if that were the case it would also indicate an equally obvious anomaly unless of course all the people who really cast votes don't rise to the challenge and match any voting pattern suggesting a fix….!. |

...and if you've worked in politics like I have, you know just how easy it is to skew YouGov polls too |

It is a brilliant thing to happen considering how rife homophobia is in America, and in the nations we are currently giving so much aid to and fighting to make them more civilised (How they are doing so, however, is a different story.)
That being said; I feel that the majority of the public do not agree but won't dare say as we aren't too big on our root religions anymore so the stigma associated with speaking about our old 'values' is rife.
Best part, for me, is that the Tories will be losing a shed load more of their loyal voters because of this! And that is always good Their followers are dropping like bowling pins! |

Don't make the mistake of thinking their support will find its way to more moderate parties. Some of their votes will end up with UKIP, and others will go even further right to the BNP, a party whose leader is openly homophobic. More votes for extremists is never a good thing. |

The Catholic church is up in arms 'cos gay marriages by and large don't produce babies (new catholics) and the wealth of the church is predicated on lots and lots of catholics giving lots and lots of money to the church. |

Where the votes go ain't as important as the fact Tories are deserting their party in droves. |

If rather have a House full of Tories than even one BNP MP. |
