Is your workplace very formal and is there an etiquette to approaching colleagues? How would your boss feel about you chatting to his/her daughter? Does she work there or have you just noticed her in a social setting?
All that aside you could introduce yourself, ask how she is and take it from there.

She's in a totally different department and we never work on same things, i could say a formal hello but saying it infornt of everyone might raise eyebrows and my boss won't be cool with it as of what i know from him, will note the suggestion, any more conversation starter's you recomend? |

Well i think it's because of the culture we have at office is extremely formal and my management is quite connected each since they built the company from scratch they are basically each other's girl friend :p that's how close they are with each other |

What are you hoping to gain out of it? Who have said its not a sex/date situation, you work in different departments so don’t interact on a work level. Friendships develop naturally when working or socialising together.

Most probably a date, I'm interested in her romantically for sure but that's the good tip of ice berg and we don't actually have any socializing scene sicne she has privileges like different lifts and parkings and dining tables also a separate area for work the only time i can actually say a hello without getting eye balled is if i catch her and run behind her while she leaving the office premises! And i most certainly don't want a POSH on me since offense like this are quite serious and this does fall under an aspect of it |
