Seeing the other thread on gay marriage made me think. Are we the only species on the planet that have gay male and females?
I cant think of any other animal that would or has set up a pairing as male male or female female of the species.
I think this maybe because animals have the urge to recreate hence shagging everything they can.
Why have our species or some of them lost that natural instinct?
Not having a go, just asking a genuine question. |

Chimpanzees do same gender sex, they dont partner for life full stop so you couldnt call then gay, but they will engange in sexual acts with the same sex |

My old Jack Russell would shag anything, horny lil fucker would even try the cat if he got chance...lol
And yes he tried to bum my male spaniel as well!

I thought I'd read about a few species demonstrating homosexuality so just Wiki'd it and there's loads apparently - including cats and dogs.
As a caring and open minded staff to pussycats, I hope I'll be accepting if one day one of them comes home and tells me they're a friend of Dorothy  |

someone once quoted the statistic to me that over 450 species have been shown to engage in same gender sex. not sure how accurate that is, but as someone who has worked on farms, i can tell u that most animals dont seem to care what gender their fellow animals are. if they are horny, they will hump |

I don't know about other species but dogs will mount same sex to demonstrate their dominance over the other. To that end a female dog will mount another female or male dog, or a human for that matter. |

I once saw a poodle wearing a pink ribbon push a pram containing a chimpanzee in a tutu,,,,,, but I never thought to check for testicles……so I’ve no idea if they were gay,,,  |
