How tidy/ messy is your car...

Following on from Jools thread and as the title reads... how tidy/ messy is your car?

I've got the MOT coming up, so desperately need to detox my vehicle and try and make it presentable. It's very much a work horse and a combination of the dog, children, carrying too much in it for the what ifs and nights away, tools for every job, changes of clothes, walking boots etc. It's pretty bad and the complete opposite to my home... tidy, clean, organised etc.

So how bad is yours? Are you equally clean and tidy in both or like myself, such disparity between the two?

It's fine. It probably needs a clean on the outside and hoover on the inside but it's not cluttered or anything

Always used to be the case for myself but, then I used to buy and restore Capris and they'd be immaculate... don't think I feel the love for newer cars and life seems to get in the way.

It's a shit tip.

Honestly, you could rip the roof off (probably with your bare hands) and it would look like a skip.

Hasn't been washed in years, has paint peeling down to bare metal in places, dents, scrapes and an odd coloured wing mirror as some thundercunt smashed it off driving down the middle of a narrow country lane.

But it's dirt cheap to tax, insure and run. So I don't care.

I class it as a work tool and it gets me from A to B. I'm not bothered about it looking good as long as it works.

Which it does.

Most of the time.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Mine is currently empty... because I'm at market and the contents are surrounding me. It desperately needs a clean inside and out, and the rear passenger side mirror is stuck open about 3 inches so I've wrapped the whole window in clingfilm.

It's battered, scraped and looking sorry for itself.

Bit like me.

When I had a car I used to get it cleaned inside and out weekly and emptied the rubbish daily. . I liked how it made me feel - clarity & more productive & proud to be taking care of it.

If a vendor turns up and I spot a dirty messy car I think here’s someone a bit chaotic, disorganised, who doesn’t pay attention to the small stuff, his life’s probably a mess too

Mine is an absolute state, littered with empty iced coffee cups. Only time I tidy it is if it's going in the garage.

My car hasn't been washed on the outside in two years.

The inside still has remnants of a tip run I did 18 months ago.

Gone are the days of people sitting in the boot, so sure it didn't matter that much

"Mine is clean and tidy. I don’t like mess. The only messy bits are a few bags for life in the boot."

That makes sense... I always end up wishing I'd put mine back in the boot, a bit like picking my shopping list up before heading that way.

"Mine is in as new showroom condition, even leaving a car park ticket inside it for more than a day or so annoys me.

Always used to be the case for myself but, then I used to buy and restore Capris and they'd be immaculate... don't think I feel the love for newer cars and life seems to get in the way.

No excuse for being an untidy eejit , 10 mins each week and it wouldn't get in a mess "

Probably

"Following on from Jools thread and as the title reads... how tidy/ messy is your car?

I've got the MOT coming up, so desperately need to detox my vehicle and try and make it presentable. It's very much a work horse and a combination of the dog, children, carrying too much in it for the what ifs and nights away, tools for every job, changes of clothes, walking boots etc. It's pretty bad and the complete opposite to my home... tidy, clean, organised etc.

So how bad is yours? Are you equally clean and tidy in both or like myself, such disparity between the two?

Mine looks like it’s just left the factory. It needs a wash on the outside, but inside genuinely like a new car."

Do you use it?

Isn't that what kids are for?

You'd think. They've not cleaned it in years! "

Youth of today... mine don't bother either and not allowed to beat them either these days

Currently in the garage having work done to pass MOT. I hope they wash it for me….

Hopefully with the work it'll pass as well... I wouldn't be fussed about washing it if not

It will pass - or else!! I love that car will be devastated when it dies on me. 1st major work & nearly 13 years old.

Priorities what they are... just a shame it's football, though would be potentially wise if it was a rugby team.

Dog hair in the back seats.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

"Mine is currently empty... because I'm at market and the contents are surrounding me. It desperately needs a clean inside and out, and the rear passenger side mirror is stuck open about 3 inches so I've wrapped the whole window in clingfilm.

It's battered, scraped and looking sorry for itself.

Bit like me.

Probably not as bad as you think then! And just a little character"

Hmmm. Definitely worse than I think. I had a close look at the outside

It's now full of all the market stuff... and I have to empty that out for tomorrow

Might give it a clean and tidy while it is empty actually...

Is that a man's three inches though? May not be a bad you think... hold a sky remote next to it to see. And the cling film just sounds kinky, though so saying tried that in a previous relationship and then couldn't breathe (not sure if the ex did it deliberately)

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

Mine needs a wash, and the driver's side floormat is grubby, because of the mud and puddles at work, and it gets a bit dusty, too. But, there's no clutter and on the whole it's not too shabby.

I remember the feeling of fighting a losing battle when I used to work at preserved railways like that... best will in the world it'd get filthy as soon as look at it

Central

It's really neat and tidy, though has a tiny coffee mark on some plastic and a sandwich wrapper, I think, that I didn't pick up from earlier. It's a workhorse, boot stocked with all of life's necessities. Found a long lost gorgeous earring in it this morning too . Though that suggests it's not perfectly managed

I didn't have a sky remote so I used the firestick one. I have deduced the window is in fact open 3½ feet in man measurement.

Replaced the clingfilm cos I was feeling fancy, vacuumed it out but got bored before I got to the front seats. And apparently I need some upholstery cleaner because the seats must have got wet at some point...
