It's here. August. Kind of wet, not quite the August of previous years. If the sun does make an appearance, there'll be threads aplenty bemoaning the heat...
That aside - how's your August looking? Anything you're looking forward to? Any goals or hopes for the month ahead? |

See september in is goal number one. I've had 3 funerals in July. So I'd like a pause in august.
Get lots of bbq done in the next few weeks. Emptying the junk room would be great. And keep my gratitude higher than my expectations. |

Weather does not phase me. Tired of the wind though gives me headaches.

I’ll be seeing you this month Meli! 
And I have a nice cabin break booked up near Worcester next weekend. Hot tub time!!! Out in Worcester for the rugby.

The start of the month will include seeing family and spending time with good friends.
Then the Manchester Social and a day trip to London. May try and squeeze UtB in as well if I can figure out logistics 
But much of the month will be spent getting excited for the start of September  |

It's the 6 weeks holiday, so my life consists of getting children to childcare, family trips out, a week in Scotland, our anniversary, my birthday. Oh and fitting work in somewhere.
I'm actually looking forward to my birthday week as I've booked it off. I'm hoping to go see The Lion King in Birmingham. An expensive treat |

I'm on holiday now, I've got some pleasant things/people booked in and I've got a WHOLE week kid free which is a rarity. Work is minimal but fun this month. So minus the current never ending rain it should be a good month |

So far, weekend my the sea meeting a friend's new baby then my big sister's birthday the following weekend. But will definitely take some time off work and do something nice, but haven't decided what/where yet! |

After a relatively peaceful July, August brings the impending anticipation of Autumn for me, because you know me Meli, I do love Autumn!
This weekend it's a dinner - a quorum of delightful Forumites and Fabbers encircling a gastronomic table filled with fine fayre and victuals. I'm really looking forward to this.
Later in the month there's an Afternoon Tea session - a rendezvous with an affectionate concubine of carefully curated Fab Ladies who got suckered into joining me for tea, savouries, bubbles, pastries and cake. This is actually a humbling coup or smug-worthy proportions. Keep this to yourself.
Hopefully August will end with a passionate interlude somewhere. It's long overdue. But then, these things happen to come along at the same time like proverbial red London buses. |

August is looking rainy.... We've finally got a new family car so super pleased about that, we have a social lined up in a couple of weeks I'm excited/nervous about.
Hopefully if the weather improves we can take the kids out a bit more too.

I've got lots of lovely things to look forward to. I'm feeling very lucky.
I'm going to the Ballet on Friday night and then next weekend is an indulgent spa day at a beautiful hotel in the borders, followed by party at the palace festival the next day.
Lots of getting organised for our holiday at the end of September.
With luck I might be a stone lighter by the end of the month and I'm looking forward to the lounge social in September too.

Looking forward to? Yes.
Dreading? Also yes.
But onwards and upwards. There's some major life changes coming but scary as it is I'm going to work through them all one by one and come out the other side happy one way or another.
