Annoying Things Customers Do
Jump to: Newest in thread
For any of us that deal with customers at work, what things do they do that you find annoying?
I know a couple. At my works, I find it annoying that customers would rather waste a lovely sunny day going to watch a movie instead of going somewhere nice for the day like on the coast for example.
Another is when customers enter a screen while it's being cleaned or there's a film still on in a previous screening. |

Some people don't enjoy the sun and heat, some avoid the sun in peak hours of the day because they have had skin cancer, it may be the only day where diaries align to meet others that day to watch something particular..... |

Being rude, chewing gum while talking to you, leaving ear phones in while you're serving them, continuing a phone call, waiting until a transaction is almost completed before searching through several bags for the means to pay. And I'm just another customer waiting behind you in the queue observing your bad behaviour...NO! |

When they stand and count all their change to make it up to a pound. I can see that pound in your hand, just give me it!!
When you tell them the price of something and they say “I’ll give you X amount for it ” hahahahaha no it wasn’t funny the first 5 times, it’s still not funny now. |

Very understandable. What I meant was that on some sunny days especially on weekends and school holidays, I would see many families come in spending roughly between £60-£80 on tickets and food which could have been used to go somewhere like Blackpool, Southport or even Cleveleys and it would have lasted them all day and would have cost less. |

Some brilliant ones here… especially the leaving meat outside the refrigerator, WHY!? For me it would be being late or not showing for a meeting that they have booked. I can often travel 3 hours for a meeting, that could have been completed on Teams anyway to find out they haven’t shown up. Then get a response the day after saying, sorry my son/daughter was sick or something… fine no worries but please tell me before I have travelled halfway across the country! |

But maybe they did that the day before, or the weekend before and they are varying up the activities to stop them getting repatative.
Cinema visit is a quick and easy downtime day to help recharge the batteries but still have an activity to do. For some families it may be a talking point about what they actually watched, engaged as a family. |

"Remember the old saying:
Customers make Pay Days possible. "
There's another one. When customers say that "they pay our wages" which is annoying. I know that there would be no business without customers but what customers shouldn't have is the right to treat employees like crap. |

People thinking Bargain Hunt is somehow the real world.Asking what the price is then thinking they are doing you a favour "offering" half, asking the best then offering less than what you said, why bother asking? Offering a stupid price and justifying it by saying "it will save you from taking it home",I got it here I think I can get it back.
People who know F all about an item or the market for it asking you about it and then completely refusing to believe the answer, usually because their "treasure" is actually shit. |

Old ladies tutting and moaning behind me at the checkout because I'm talking to the checkout operator as I'm packing a week's shopping.
Fuck off Doris and take your three items to the express checkout.

This is understanding. I just wish that customers would be more considerate when it comes to leaving cinema screens as some would just make a big mess and leave it there. |

I'd hate to be served by most of you.
Worst customer I had spat at me. It was some years ago and I had made a snotty comment about her being a short arse when she said I should look up to her.....
Luckily my overall was wipeable

Years ago I worked in a pound shop when everything was actually a pound. The amount of people that would ask how much an item was... Some in ernest, most in jest
When I worked in a pet shop, the amount of men (yes, only men) that would point at the fish and say "they'd be better with chips. Haha" Yup, cos I've not heard that 5 times already today |

Talking on their phones whilst people are trying to deal with them/serve them.
Coming to the wrong place /department then getting snarky with you because you can't do what they want (because they're in the wrong place ).
Breezing in late to appointments & not acknowledging it or acting in an entitled manner when they then have to wait.

Ask for extras with zero intention of paying
Think you should work for next to nowt
Get you out to price then seem suprised you can’t start in 2 weeks time
Take ages to pay once job complete, thankfully this doesent happen too often, worst was some wanker who withheld 6 grand as we didn’t get second layer of brushing in sand in due to weather, he even bragged “I’ve got a free drive till it’s done” trouble was it was early winter, was never dry enough till next March and even then we used a gas burner to get it in and finally get paid the twat |

Lidl's don't have an express checkout. I'm usually the one with the 3 items. |

Put too much milk in my tea.
I said the merest suggestion of milk.
You could almost add it with a little brush, just one stroke.
Don’t offer me a nice brew and then ask how I like it and then make a warm mug of horrid milky pesh!
We need a Thursday rant day thread this week. |

Refusing to do stuff, that they are legally obliged to do. Only to have them come running to the company later, begging for us to help them as they have had a visit from the environmental health dept. |
