Plenty posts about this but thought I’d ask anyway.
I’ve been chatting to a lovely lady for a while and we’ve arranged 2 meets - both times family issues have arisen, which is fair enough. Due to meet again soon. If we fail to meet should I give up tryong to meet and simply stay as chat friends? Or what? |

I think three chances is reasonable. I know some people will think one and done but I don't know. I'm soft.
Any more than three and I'd say it's not meant to happen because, with all the best will in the world, I'm a strong believer of if someone really wanted to, they would. It's very much up to you though OP - we can't see your interactions. What are your thoughts on it? If someone asked you directly, 'what do you want to do?'. Well, that's your reply. |

To be honest I can’t say as it totally depends on the “relationship” you have with them.
Are you only talking on here?
Do you talk daily?
What’s there and your personal situations and availability’s?
Do you or they have kids or family they look after?
Do you feel it’s just friendship?
Do they see it as just friendship?
Have you both agreed to meet no one else before you meet?
So many variables.
Go with your gut feel. If you feel they are messing you around then move on, if you feel they are genuine reasons then try again, but there does have to be an end point for your own sanity.

"3 strikes and I'm out.
Tbh I probably would be after the 2nd but if the excuses seem reasonable I'd try again
Mrs "

Depends how much you like her and how believable the excuses are in your eyes.
We’ve given up on people here at the first sign of flakiness but then we’ve also taken years to give up on another as she occasionally turned up when she said she would but was the crumbliest flakiest friend we’ve ever had.
Ultimately, if it makes you feel shit it’s time to get rid. |
