How many chances

Plenty posts about this but thought I’d ask anyway.

I’ve been chatting to a lovely lady for a while and we’ve arranged 2 meets - both times family issues have arisen, which is fair enough. Due to meet again soon. If we fail to meet should I give up tryong to meet and simply stay as chat friends? Or what?

.

I think three chances is reasonable. I know some people will think one and done but I don't know. I'm soft.

Any more than three and I'd say it's not meant to happen because, with all the best will in the world, I'm a strong believer of if someone really wanted to, they would. It's very much up to you though OP - we can't see your interactions. What are your thoughts on it? If someone asked you directly, 'what do you want to do?'. Well, that's your reply.

3 strikes and I'm out.

Tbh I probably would be after the 2nd but if the excuses seem reasonable I'd try again

I'm usually two and done but it totally depends on the interaction, if it seems legit then maybe a third

To be honest I can’t say as it totally depends on the “relationship” you have with them.

Are you only talking on here?

Do you talk daily?

What’s there and your personal situations and availability’s?

Do you or they have kids or family they look after?

Do you feel it’s just friendship?

Do they see it as just friendship?

Have you both agreed to meet no one else before you meet?

So many variables.

Go with your gut feel. If you feel they are messing you around then move on, if you feel they are genuine reasons then try again, but there does have to be an end point for your own sanity.

I think you’re being very fair. If it feels genuine, and you like her, give her that third chance. But if this one doesn’t work out? Someone is trying to tell you something.

Thank you all - I’m thinking 3 too, so it’s good to hear that’s a common opinion

If they give warning I would give up to 3 chances. Last minute maybe one at most. In the end if they're lives are so hectic there's not much chance of any future.

It depends on how much notice etc. If it's last minute and seems like I'm being messed about, I'm done with them.

I would say depends on the feel you have with this person and how much you build up?

If excuse is reasonable then probably 3 times

Depends how much you like her and how believable the excuses are in your eyes.

We’ve given up on people here at the first sign of flakiness but then we’ve also taken years to give up on another as she occasionally turned up when she said she would but was the crumbliest flakiest friend we’ve ever had.

Ultimately, if it makes you feel shit it’s time to get rid.

Someone new, I’m sure after the 2nd time I’d have left all reasonable expectations of a chance to meet up as sailed off.

If it's someone I haven't met previously, probably only 1 chance.

If someone let us down twice ,they wouldn't get a third chance .

I hope it comes off for you,if it doesn't I'd be blocking them op as I'd feel they had no intention of ever meeting.

On fab, 2 chances. Real world friends get unlimited chances as I already know then and how their life works.
