There was no T.V. when I was a kid, we got our first T.V. (Black & White) in 1953 when I was 13.
I am afraid I cannot remember what kids programmes were available though |

"Eurotrash when everyone was in bed
With the volume on really low "
My mam had that thing where she could watch whatever channel was on downstairs in her bedroom. I had to be extra sneaky. |

Raw Hide.
My younger brother and I were often left alone at age 5 - 8 years old most of the day. (Wouldn't be allowed today). We lived in the country with a large paddock where our parents kept over 100 chickens. My brother and I used to round them up singing the Raw Hide song (google it). Then we would round them up again and move them back to where they were.
(Strangely the chickens didn't lay) - funny that. |

My parents are aliens.
Come outside.
The queen's nose.
Jungle run.
Big cook little cook (to be fair I enjoyed this almost into adulthood).
Tracey Beaker was probably my fave.
Big kids.
Brum.
Bernard's watch. |

Speaking to my kids, I said that I couldn’t reply to texts on my Apple Watch because the keyboard was so tiny.
They explained that I could reply simply by talking into it and I said I didn’t want to look like I was in a Dick Tracy cartoon.
No one had a clue what I was talking about. That’s how old I feel today |

I didn’t watch much television when I was little. I still don’t now. What I did watch when I was a little older were
Not The Nine O’clock News
Blackadder
House of Cards (the original BBC version)

"Jamie and the Magic Torch
Best theme song ever.
That, and what else? Mr Benn. Ivor the Engine. Bagpuss. Doctor Who. Blake’s Seven. The Adventure Game. Kickstart. Why Don’t You?"
It really is the best theme tune although Dogtanian is a close second. Loved Bagpuss too |

You should put the watch in your shoe and pretend you're Maxwell Smart, agent 86. |

When I was really young it was Playschool...which window should we go through today?
I also liked Scooby Doo and when I was older it was Grange Hill. I wasn't really allowed to watch it though as my Mum said it would be a bad influence on me |

The BBC turned Yes minister into a radio series too. Repeated fairly often on Radio 4 Extra and BBC Sounds. Same cast as the TV programme |
