The thing I don't get about spooning...

...is why do people talk about a big spoon and a little spoon? The reason why it's called spooning is that two people fit together like spoons. Spoons only fit together when they are the same size. If you have spoons of two different sizes, they just don't have the same fit.
So instead of big and little spoons, shouldn't we be talking about front and back spoons?

Actually they won’t and the OP is right. Go to the kitchen, grab a teaspoon and a desertspoon and see how badly they fit together. Now try with two desertspoons. |

Forgive me for getting a bit deep and oversharing here.
For me getting to be the "little spoon" is an incredibly rare thing. I'm not talking about the 5 mins post sex snuggle.
I'm talking about beyond that.
It's a feeling protected and safe thing in some ways but more than that it's allowing myself to be.
It's quite a vulnerable place for me to be really. I spend my life being alone and doing everything for everyone else and there's just something about stopping.
Being in that moment where there's someone for me. Where I can just switch off almost. It takes me quite a lot to allow myself to truly relax like that and to fall asleep that way, well if I do then it means something to me.

my spoons are old and the handles are bent so I don't drop my food, so my spoons fit lol |

I was thinking of a concert. There is also the school photograph, or the wedding group photo - but in some of those the smaller person may be happy to be hidden by a larger spoon  |
