Felicity Ace and Fremantle Highway

So after the specialist vehicle carrying cargo ship the "Felicity Ace" caught fire and sunk in 2022 we now have another vehicle carrier the "Fremantle Highway" still burning in the North Sea off the Dutch coast since it caught fire last Wednesday. The common factor between both ships is that when the EV's which partly made up their cargo caught fire the thermal runaway effect from the cars battery packs made the fires uncontrollable. Is it just me or is anyone else put off from having an EV for this reason?

No I have an EV. From what you are saying there was a fire and not the EVs caused the fire.

It doesn't matter if the EV's caused the fire or not, what matters is that when an EV battery pack overheats it becomes a "thermal runaway".

This is the term that scares me because the fire can't be controlled and extinguished in the same way a conventional vehicle fire can
