Is it me or have motorways just got far too much traffic nowadays. Just got back from Heathrow and there was a 40 mile speed limit on the M1 after coming off the M25. The was no obstruction or anything. Anyways Midnight rant over lol xx

Speaking of motorways- I had a tire blow out the other evening, so had to spend a lovely hour/hour and a half stood at the side of the M4 in the pissing rain waiting for recovery. :,(

The M6 was 50mph average speed check for a good 20 miles but no work happening and little traffic at 23.00.

I wouldn't actually mind using public transport but it's soo expensive. I got from Leicester to Heathrow T3 in £40. That's door to door service aswell

That must have a horrible experience.

The M1 is a mess, they've played around withit so much over the years it's a death trap, people cutting across 4, 5 lanes to get on and off, using hard shoulder to que jump, cracks all over the tarmac and cameras flashing in your face. Looks like I'll be on tomorrow ho hum.

Having worked around the uk ive found the london. Mways and manchester m62 i think are just car parks. Not so bad in scotland, what really gets to me is how people crash on them its a straight road with everyone going the same way. Its absolutel carelessness

The m60 smart….hahahaha … sorry, smart motorway regularly has a 50/40 mph speed limit when it’s empty at 5am. Go figure.

And it backs up from noon onwards now.

LHR

The M60 upgrade was incomprehensible to anybody who uses it! Government spent millions, apparently £1.15M per mile one of the construction guys was telling me at the time, to “upgrade” to a ‘smart’ system!

What the fuck, it’s four lanes into two lanes with three junctions at Worsley and no amount of red signs changed that!

A complete and utter waste of money!

I lived in Worsley at the time and the overnight noise was so bad, they had to postpone the works to just three nights midweek due to complaints from us local residents!

Wait and see, the ‘smart’ motorway network will be a rusting relic of Tory ‘back handers’ when there’s zero budget for maintenance and inevitable upgrades during subsequent Whitehall budgets.

UK road networks are the worst in Europe by some margin, tiny Thai and Vietnam islands have better roads!

The M60 is ALWAYS backed up. Junction if M61/M60 is queued at all hours now.

It's not really recommended to try and change it yourself, is it? Crouching down near a live lane? In one of those silly refuge areas? No. Go over the barrier and await professional help is the advice for everyone.

Not everyone can physically change a tyre. I used to be able to, but not anymore.

I dread the idea of breaking down on the motorway because I would struggle to get out of the car and to somewhere safe.
