"sad day for you. guinea pigs dont last long. get a kitten. cats give more interest and are fairly independent xx
FFS mine was 12 when he popped off"
I had one live till 8 and another make 6 when I was very young. They both got cancer and some awful tumours... it was heartbreaking.

"Not so dumb question..... I nearly burried a dead hamster..... Errrr..... It wasn't..... "
At school, we used to dig holes in a sandpit, insert a gerbil and cover each hole with dry sand.
I think the most tunnels we had was 8, then guess which one he would emerge from

"My guinea pig died I tried to nurse him and I syringed him water and tried to encourage him to eat but he died. very upset children he was only a baby
It would be nice to have a little funeral and plant a flower on top."
That's actually a really good idea as you can introduce your children to the concept of how we respect the dead and why we go to the lengths we do to bury living things that have mattered to us in such a reverent way. Doesn't matter how young they are, they'll 'get it'...
Did the same with my youngest when his hamster (Al !) died when he was 12 (my son, not the hamster!) |
