Is a SOH really attractive?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Everyone has a sense of humour.
I tend to enjoy the company of those with a similar sense of humour to mine.
It's important in every aspect of life.
Don't let anyone tell you that you do not have a sense of humour. They are generally the type that do something objectionable and then tell you to 'lighten up' and make out that they are hilarious and you are not. Don't let them excuse their shite behaviour at your expense.
That said we all have varying degrees in what we find amusing and how we react to things.

Yes. I like a playful wit, when someone doesn't life too seriously and can laugh at the little things. Good with words. I like those with a dark, sarcastic sense of humour as well. It can be incredibly sexy when someone is able to make me laugh a lot.
And I get a little thrill when I like someone and they understand my sense of humour and laugh a lot. So yes, it's important to me. If we're not compatible humour wise I end up finding it a bit awkward and groaning. Not in a pleasured way. |

Soh or someone that you think is funny.
I have a sense of humour, I can tell when a joke is a joke.
But then there’s the part where I imagine myself joking and some have took it literally and thrown me from a chat group *true story, so who was it that didn’t have a sense of humour.
Also, someone #they know who, has told me they don’t get my humour… is it lost in text? I dunno.
But. When I get them, and like their humour, of course it’s attractive. It tells me they habe a fun side. Can see the light side of life, wether it is cheesy/sarcastic/dark/risqué/childish. It doesn’t matter, as long as it’s not doom and gloom all the time. |

Apologies O.P. I haven't answered the question ......
An adonis without a sense of humour get shagged.
Hilarious blokes who look like quasimodo do not get shagged.
The recipe for repeat shags isn't as simple as reciting Ken Dodd's jokes every two mins....
S.O.H is vital to shoulder life and it can make people warm to your character but it doesn't , on it's own, guarantee sex. |

There’s finding someone who makes *me* laugh and then people who are full of relentless jokes and bantz
Humour combined with knowing when to stop laughing and to start owning is the best! |

I’m assuming you mean sense of humour, so yes, absolutely important. You could look like Tom Hardy but if you haven’t got the humour and personality to go with it, I wouldn’t waste my time.

"It's not just a sense of humour. Lee Hurst has a sense of humour . It's a compatible sense of humour that's really important. It's not enough on its own but definitely adds to an attraction.

This, you put it far more eloquently than me. |

I can get into so much trouble with my sense of humour……(it can be dark) but love it when I connect with someone…….
My test with women on here would be to send a full body and face pic…if they were still interested then they must have a sense of humour…..(or insane) |

"Absolutely it is. It's an attractive trait and without a sense of humour, I wouldn't be interested. Laughter is one of life's best tonics."
Totally agree.
I kinda emphasise my love of humour and laughter on here. There’s something amazing about a nice smile or collapsing in a heap of laughter with someone .
It also helps people stop obsessing on my matinee-idol good looks. At least, that’s what I like to think.

I like the people I mix with to have a sense of humour that's similar to mine. I do find it an attractive trait but not necessarily sexually attractive.
In a shock revelation I can find someone's personality attractive without wanting to fuck them. Who knew this was possible? |

Not really no for me. I just base attraction purely in here as physical. If I find you physically good then I am good to fuck mostly unless you are a complete tard in person personality wise with ranting / political etc , then I would just bounce out immediately

Essential. If someone is witty, self-depreciating, doesn’t take themselves seriously, it shows emotional intelligence. Extra points for pushing towards the line of slightly dark and in appropriate without crossing the line! |

Yes, but I like a sense of humour that compliments mine - a relationship should be like a comedy double act.
Cannon & Ball, Morecambe & Wise, The two Ronnies.
Lots of laughs, lots of sex and lots of cuddles.

Of course it is! If you can't have a laugh with someone, if they respond to banter with a dead-eyed stare - what's going to happen when you do a fanny fart?
(I like a SOH that doesn't rely on being clever and witty at other people's expense.) |

11 types of SOH.. Slapstick, deadpan, satire, insult, wordplay, self-deprecating, awkward, dark situational, situational, impromptu and double meaning..
I was going to see some slapstick today another time. |

Of course. But am I the only person who's not to keen on acronyms? Especially on something as word dependent as wit? I'm also skeptical of those with a humourless profile who declare that they either are very funny or want someone with an SOH.
Like others have said, we probably all have a sense of homour; it's finding people with compatible humour and the chemistry for it to shine through that's difficult. |

To a point.
It is nice to be jolly and fun to break the ice, being jovial can work by keeping tense times less stressful.
But if it's too full on in the wrong moments it can be taken that its all a bit fake, like whats going on is a joke. |

"Many times a SOH has been the difference between Penny saying yes and Penny saying no, you can literally laugh your way into her love tunnel."
Laugh our way in, or make her laugh? Makes me think of Monty Python's funniest joke. |

"SOH is a trait tbh , very difficult to get across in a text as it can be misinterpreted but when face to face it's brilliant. "
I see what you mean there. My sense of humour is both dark, dry and twisted, but like Ben Elton, I can elaborate so well that I can paint images in people's heads that are in the realms of eye bleach and ear worms.
Yes context and delivery is a must. |

Logically I have to say no (as in not necessarily). Or 'depends' if you'd rather put it that way.
Sure, the *right* kind of SOH is of course attractive. Humour is part of character, and people's characters attract by nature. The key is in compatibility though.
Our SOH is so integral to what we are that the wrong type is often a disaster.
Also I personally don't need to see/hear a SOH just for sex, so it's not imperative for everyone.
In terms of'compatible' SOH's I have to say that I'd far rather be with someone without any SH at all(!) than be around people purveying the variety of uproarious mirth some are habitually defending (often out of sheer boredom methinks) on Fab.

That’s rubbish !!
Op. The same sense of humour is attractive. That’s why I’d never fuck a comedian I didn’t like. |
