best surprise for valentines

A few years ago we stayed up Yorkshire in an hotel after a ball with tv celebs etc on the 13th Feb. Around midnight I snook off to the room and dressed the bed and bathroom with rose petals and choccies etc. Across a white shelf I placed 12 teddies all holding a red rose I said you might have had a dozen roses before, but never carried by a dozen teddies |

My ex had just moved into his own place and it didn't have a cooker....so for valentines day he bought a cooker, had it installed and cooked a wonderful meal for me...
He got brownie points for that....
which have since been recinded, hence the ex .lol...
I will cook my own dinner this year! |

we dont really celebrate valentines day, but two years ago jay got us a holiday to barcelonia for a week and emailed me them on valentines day.
Oh and an ex took me to stratford to a really posh hotel and put all rose petals in the bath and i drank champagne while in the bath. It was wasted as i didnt want to be with him anymore and we split up not long after |

When I was still married I once bought a huge box of chocolates (50 or more chocs), wrapped them all and put a unique label on each of them. I then hid them all over the house for my wife to find. It took her several days
This year I'm going to dig her what she thinks is a pond... |

My surprise last Valentine's (although I got it 2 days afterwards) was to find that my ex had been having a 2 year affair (we had split up in 2011) and that him and his slag were glad they could celebrate their first Valentine's together without "complications!"
This year has got to be an improvement.... Hasn't it? |

Not wishing to spoil anybody's fun for Valentines (and I love the story with the teddies ) but I am not in Valentine at all - for me it feels like just another commercialised event. Much prefer spontaneous gestures throughout the year and they can something as small as a bar of my favourite chocolate. |

Because she knew me, she knew he was my boyfriend and proceeded to have a full on 2 year affair with him. She doesn't deserve a name and nor does he. |

Some good and bad stories
To you RS better to lose a lover than love a loser
I agree valentines day along with lots of other days like mothers and fathers days but its still a nice gesture on these days
I do lots of things romantic quite often..... most are little things that cost little or no money I could tell you lots but I'd make a lot of you sick...... hopeless romantic here
Chocolate roses 99p on or before valentines day 20p a few days later I bought a dozen they were cheaper than plain roses and more enjoyable I put 11 in a vase for a meal I made and left 1 on her pillow then spelt out ....... I love S S X.... then changed the middle S to an E..... I love SEX. This was written with red love heart sweets.......... picture on her face. Priceless

Would you be offended if somebody called you a slag for being on here? |

I think there's quite a difference in what I choose to do now which is have NSA sex with people who are single (or to the best of my knowledge single) and someone starting an affair with someone they knew. I don't like the word slag, its why I choose to call her it. |

"never had anything special for valentines
Ditto on the plus side, I haven't had to worry about doing anything special either "
You shouldn't give to receive. I feel good putting a smile on my partners face....... It can be just a kiss, a single flower (even a daisy picked up on a walk) a loveheart sweet hidden somewhere......... Anything to let the other you know you're thinking about them.
You say its all about commercialisation but I've made cards before I never got a blue peter badge
What about a bunch of flowers made from pineapple and strawberries I've done this twice mmmmmm tasty romantic treats |
