Ooo god how can I answer this question without sounding bad
Yes I tip how much depends on how much it comes to
And it’s not just serton thing like restaurant or something
I tip shops even big chain stores and such
I hate loose change and don’t spend coins I put all my pounds in a jar till it’s full and then cash them at the bank
To make things easier I just tell shops and everything to just give me the pounds keep the change change
My local shop isn’t to bad if it’s under 40p they just give me the full pound
For instance if it’s like £18.5p they give me 2 pound change as they know the next day it could be £17.50 and they going to get 50p anyway |

A couple of weeks ago I tipped my night bus driver £20. He was a bit reluctant to take it but there was a complete cunt of a passager who kept screaming on the bus and then started smoking . The driver stopped the bus and asked them to leave. When the passager refused the driver got a bit more proactive and got out of the cab to tell the man off and ensured that he exited the bus. The driver handled the passager swiftly and got back on the road. As a frequent night bus user I often see this behavior go unchallenged so I praised and tipped the driver. Yes he's just doing his job like most of us but quite a few industries get over looked when it comes to delivering good service. |

I tip most places that provide a service. Takeaways, restaurants, barbers, window cleaner, etc. if I don’t have enough to tip them I always square them up next time.
I did pizza deliveries when I first passed my driving test so I know the difference a couple of tips a day/night can make. |

It is a good way to save without realising it I been doing it for years the reason for the no change is I am still in the mid set off needing to bag and count it your self so made that easier not you just put it all in to a mishen and it counts it for you but I still just keep the habit up x |

"When and where I can. I find it a bit harder now bank cards have taken over payments. I would prefer to directly give a cash tip for the service to the person I've been served by."
I'm not a fan of the "add a tip" option when I buy a drink at the pub with my card but I do offer bar staff drinks. |

I was once tipped £19 for a £21 order. I assumed they’d gave me a two 20s by mistake and asked them if they were sure.
Strangely I found people who appeared to have more money tipped less than people who appeared to have a bit less. |

That is so thoughtful……..as a bus driver myself it is drilled into us not to exit the cab especially in cities and we can get in trouble for it….. |

I don’t mind tipping if I know that the tip is going to the person providing the service and not a communal tip pot or to the company.
Where I have the issue is with a service charge. Normally around 10%, yes you can decline it but that doesn’t sit well with me, I want to tip what I want and can afford based upon the service provided |

This is very much the case in my experience. Those people didn't get rich by giving their cash away.
I think those with less have worked jobs where they have been underpaid and under appreciated so "get it"

I am guilty of tipping on top of the service charge, especially if I've had really great service. My two local restaurants provide amazing service and value for money too. |

My bus route can be a bit hairy on Friday and Saturday nights. I was thankful he intervened |

Very much a tipper over here.
I will always, always tip at restaurants, unless the service is abysmal.
At hotels I give a small tip to housekeeping staff but I feel more comfortable carrying my own luggage so I rarely tip for that.
If I am out with people who don’t tip at a restaurant I will always tip and make sure I never go out with them again.

I'm a carrier of my own bags but I do.leave a tip for housekeeping when I leave hotels.

I very rarely tip.
It’s usually as a result of someone going outside of the scope of their job to either help me out make my experience better.
I don’t tip for people doing what they are supposed too. |

"I too the apprentice at the hair salon, in restaurants and housekeeping at hotels unless it's been poor service.
I never tip dustpersons or postpersons."
My old man was a dustman so I did used to tip. Now I'm on a council estate and there always seems to be new people on the dust crew so I don't anymore. My postie is forever changing too. |

I would assume most do. I tip my tattooist even though I pay my weight in diamonds for the tattoo. |

"I personally hate the service charge and think it should be left up to me….."
Exactly. If somewhere assumes I want to tip by adding a service charge,or as some places are doing adding a "gratuity" I get it removed and leave what I think is appropriate not what someone else thinks I should leave. |
