"I still get hyped up every time I hear the intro to Brianstorm! Can’t say I’m an expert on the monkeys though.
Mr"
Love Brianstorm so much! Probably Arabella, I have fond memories of late night drives listening and singing along to it and the way he'd look at me during it. |

One of our fav bands ever.
When they first released A.M lots of people were slow to appreciate it but I actually think it’s their best work by far.
My favourite track today is One for the road.
Tomorrow it might be Arabella or possibly Do I wanna know.
Yeah, it’s Do I wanna know now, I changed my mind as soon as I pressed play |

Agreed. A.M is a great album.
Seen them live a few times.
Thought they were awful at Glasto on the TV.
Their cover of Drakes just hold on is brilliant imo |

Alex’s cheesy performance is what makes it.
I know lots of people think he’s a complete cock and that’s probably why I enjoy his style so much. |

Loved them when the first came out and enjoyed how they evolved under the wing of Josh Homme (big QOTSA fan here)
While Fluorescent Adolescent is not my favourite arctics song it holds a special place in my heart.
As will Adam Dean Ayadi playing the drums in "the view from the afternoon" That's my fantasy fuck right there. Great simple video.
So many classic lines...
"You're not from New York City you're from Rotherham"
"I wanna watch you take the jackpot from the fruit machine"
"Who wants to be men of the people when there's people like you" |

"Going to be one off they people and say
I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor"
This was the first song I heard of theirs. Was hooked immediately. People may not like them but they had a unique sound when the started. |

The first album is a fantastic document of life as an indie kid (a sadly misunderstood and widely despised tribe) in the mid: noughties: "dirty dance floors and dreams of naughtiness" indeed.
My favourite song is probably "Mardy Bum" but as has been said above, there are lines to be treasured throughout that first album. One of my favourites from Fake Tales of San Francisco is:
"His bird said it's amazing though, so all that's left
Is the proof that love's not only blind, but deaf"
Turner has a real gift for naturalistic lyrics at his best. |
