Normally I tend to shy away from conversational threads and topics and such
But a story that has popped up in tech news in the last 24 hours that a AI bot was able to trick people and companies in to thinking they were a real person
Milla Sofia Is the name of the AI my question is though with this rise in AI dose it spell the end to online dateing or swinging or hook ups
As if this can be done to trick people how can you even be shour the person your talking to is them
And I know people are going to say videos calls and such but this was so advanced they literally spoofed video at awkwards and such and implemented her in to it standing next to celebrities and such at awkwards that were captured on video
Me personally I think this is a danger and needs to be halted in its tracks |

"Having avatars already exists. The deep fakes are worrying in terms of criminal evidence.
Did the milla Sofia pass the Turing test then "
This is on a another level just google and read the story they implemented the ai in to real life stuff with celbs and stuff on the red carpet
You had to look for the original video off the event to see it was never there
But on her social media and stuff it looked like she was scary to say the least |

This isn’t really new, some famous quotes by business leaders have now been found to be AI and online conversations are often AI.
Do you really think no one has thought to use Genie or Chat GTB to send messages or forum posts ? |

there is a huge difference between faking a video, and faking a live video call between two people. Ultimately, the quality and expense of technology required to produce live video interaction is considerably higher altering an existing video.

Definitely.
This is the thing AI is close to limitless. It can potentially (and likely will endlessly) learn to do shit that we never anticipated. Deep fakes both face and voice already exist. They get more advanced all the time.
I don't think it will ever reach real self awareness like in the movies. But it is going to trick you in to thinking it has.
Most are still quite limited that are used by the masses for now. But the ones being developed are so much more advanced than GenPop realise. |

I believe my job will be made redundant by AI within ten years. I'm a coder and data analyst. Things already exist where people can ask an AI to produce exactly what I produce but also look through massive datasets and find patterns and trends.
Also, AI generated porn is on the rise and is getting really realistic. You can run your own instance of a model and generate pretty much anything. Also I'm not saying anything new here, it was on the BBC and in The Guardian the other week, but when I say anything that includes underage images. This does raise a lot of questions if someone can sit and generate thousands of illegal images and distribute those. So although the images were generated so that no one was actually abused, the ethical dilemma is what do we do about it and where does the line go? |

Sometimes on a couples profile I'm really talking to a single man, so it'll be nothing new if I was talking to AI.... |
