CBD oil and cancer.
Jump to: Newest in thread
To start off with, I do not have cancer, obviously I sympathise greatly with everyone that does, and I don't wish to be insensitive.
A close family member has terminal cancer, they are in pain every day.
Does anyone find CBD oil eases their pain a tall? Obviously we would check with doctors ect before taking it to make sure it's safe with other medication. |

A lot of people say great things about it but from our experience it has no effect or not enough to warrant the expense. However as an advocate of try anything in bad circumstances it's worth giving it a go. I hope it does work for your family member |

cannabis itself is used as a pain reliever, CBD is an anti inflammatory. The research around both is at such a new stage that conflicting studies show how CBD and THC can cause cell death but then another study will suggest it causes cancel cell increases.
In 5 years the answers will hopefully come clearer. If your family member is in chronic pain I would suggest speaking with Mcmillian cancer support.

I've used it for pain relief and it was effective BUT expensive. I did my research because so much of the CBD stuff is worthless. Used a company called Endoca. |

I think CBD works with a mild to moderate pain and anxiety etc, but not with bad pain.
I would recommend fourfive CBD oral spray 2000mg orange flavour purchased from Holland and Barrett, although quite expensive it's pretty good. |

Whole heartily agree with the use of CBD oil in conjunction with western medicine regimes … it however needs to be sourced properly! As there are alot of charlatans out there that are happy to make £50 to £100 a week on something that isn’t Tailored to the individual patients needs and diagnosis …. I wish you all the best it’s a tough road to be on …Mrs C |

"I researched so called good quality CBD and paid significant money for three different bottles. They had absolutely no effect on my pain."
Yep used it for years and never really found it helps with pain. It's great for sleep which therefore improves your overall well-being. I pretty laid back but am extra laid back when I take it regularly. |

I really thought it was going to work, I was gutted when it didn't |

I know someone that used to make CBD oil, and claimed that he has helped clear people of cancer with a raw food diet and CBD.
I'd like to believe that it's true! |

I've heard mixed reviews on this but I don't think anything is proven medically.
I have also read that very small amounts of the THC side is meant to be good.
John Hartson (ex footballer) advertises one CBD, can't remember the name now, but as a cancer survivor himself I doubt he would put his name to it if it didn't have an impact on him?! |

I would and have used the proper stuff for pain relief and I wouldn’t hesitate using it for pain relief for myself or anyone else.
lots of stuff you can buy online is a waste of money it’s a shame the proper stuff isn’t made legal for everyone but that conversation is for a different thread. It’s awful seeing someone you love suffering.. |

I would say CBD would have little effect on someone with terminal cancer, I would say if they can afford it go down the legal route of obtaining a medical "C" prescription there have been one or two rare cases of it being prescribed on the NHS for cancer and ask for Indica strains, |

My cousin had to sit and watch her partner die in agony with Cancer.
They went to Amsterdam and saw the benefits of what that herb could offer as pain relief and in his final days CBD provided him with a lot of relief.
She is passionate about what it can bring to both end of life care and pain relief. So much so she has started her own business abroad. She is finding it hard to break into the Uk market due to the current regulations around strength I believe. |

It may help a bit! Nothing seemed to help my best friend when they had terminal cancer. Was a lot of suffering especially the last months, He just wanted to die and even spoke about going to another country as euthanasia
is illegal in this country. Personally i think it should be someone's right and choice if they are suffering! But in the end he made the decision to go in a hospice. More money to be made for pharmaceuticals but some cancers can't be cured.
OP so sorry about your family member hugs XOX |

I use CBD oil, it seems to help when used alongside pain meds, i only use it when my chronic pain is at it's worst. It also seems to calm me down if my pain is making me feel unsettled and i tend to sleep better after taking too.
However it could just be all in my head and not helping at all !!

That's sad. I've met someone who benefitted from it immensely during chemotherapy. We lost touch unfortunately but I'll never forget her and what a difference it made for her.. including being able to join the house party where we met and actually be a social butterfly making us all laugh in the kitchen. Not in pain. Not nauseated.

I was given dexamethasone to counter the fatigue and nausea during 6 months chemo by my oncologist. It’s great as the person taking it, it makes you feel invincible but I was unpleasant to be around. If CBD has the benefits without the character altering part, that sounds like it’s worth a go. |

So we have a lot of experience with the real thing and oils. CBD oil is good for sleep and anxiety, and a recent large and reputable study showed that it is both effective in reducing the risk of certain cancers and also helps fight certain viruses including Covid. The best brand we have come across is Ardoa.
But you really need the THC component for pain relief. |
