"'mandatory read for every human being'
That's a pretty tall order, expecting there is a book that every person alive to derive benefit from."
It's actually just to get good book recs from others but I didn't want to sound so greedy. Hence why I said it like I wanted to help others find a good book too

Been waiting for this moment lol.
Okay so if you like thrillers I recommend ‘the couple next door’ such a good read.
Also for all my nerds. GAME OF THRONES BOOKS. Much better then the show. If you’ve got the patience to read them all |

"Aldous Huxley - Brave New World
Jo Jo Moyes - Sheltering Rain
Amor Towles - A Gentleman in Moscow
Anthony Doerr - All the Light We Cannot See
"
All the light we cannot see is a stunning book. It’s in my top 5 |

It's been 11 years since the last one with no release in sight and George hardly looks like the pinnacle of health. I'd give them a miss and not subject yourself to the torturous wait like all the rest of us poor souls |

"he dictionary, as we all benefit from better communication"
I actually think the dictionary isn't a good way to learn to communicate. Sticking to reading, the way to do it is to read a variety of works that are well written and reflect on why. |

There's a vast number of books that I could suggest, all of them being essential in one way or another. However I'm going to cheat by suggesting the short story "The Library Of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges. This describes an infinitely large library which contains an infinite number of books, which between them contain every possible permutation of letters that can be printed upon the page. The library thus contains a copy of every book that exists or could ever exist - the archived set of all the books that might be produced by an infinite number of monkeys randomly pressing the keys on an infinite number of typewriters for an infinite amount of time. So in a way the gentle reader, by consuming this one short story, can be considered to have consumed every book that exists and every book that could ever exist.
The infinite library even contains a copy of every fab forum post that has been written, or could ever be written, including this very post that you are now reading!
However: An infinite number of the books held within the infinite library contain nothing but complete gibberish. Only an infinitesimal subset of the books, randomly arranged on the infinite number of shelves, contain even a single sentence that is grammatically correct in any possible language, and only an infinitesimal subset of this infinitesimal subset actually correspond to any book that will ever be written. However for every book that has been written or will be written, the infinite library does contain an infinite number of variations of that book which are exact but for one or more minor, and almost unnoticeable, errors.
The infinite library is a complete library, however it is an utterly unusable library without the index that indicates where the true copy of any particular book may be found. The library does contain this index somewhere on it's infinite number of shelves, but sadly without the index it is impossible to find the index. The library also contains an infinite number of incorrect copies of the index, which give the incorrect locations of anything from one up to all of the books. However nobody knows where even an incorrect copy of the index might be found, and if after an infinite period of searching one did find a book that appeared to be the index, there would be no way of knowing if this was the correct index without spending an infinite period of time checking the location of every one of the infinite number of books listed within the infinite index... |

I don’t think my books are that interesting that I’d inflict them on everyone else! At the moment I’m reading some Graham Hancock and Sadhguru so couldn’t be less interesting
