Just started watching an interesting documentary on Netflix following three different quarter backs through the 2022/2023 season.
At the beginning it was claimed to be one of the toughest roles in sport as most of the game rely on what they do and they are the target for everyone.
Do you agree or disagree |

"Played England U18s as a flanker. Used to hit scrum halves like a right bastard, and they were generally half my size, but they never stopped getting up and taking more. "
I'd say back when rugby union had less referring Loos head prop. |

In most sports you can get away with a weakness somewhere on your team - to a degree.
If you don’t have a high calibre quarterback in the NFL, you’re not winning.
It may or may not be the toughest position in all of sports, but it’s certainly one of the most vital. |

Toughest position in Sport ? I'll go for Boxing or any of the contact sports where those guys really hit..no one to fight in the ring ..just you & your opponent..tough tough sport...those guys hit hard and often. |

I'm going to have to beat my own drum abit here so sorry in advance.
But imo playing defence in an Ice Hockey team is the most difficult position to play in a team sport you're on blades around 5mm thick trying to stop players skating at upto 30mph putting the puck in your net. Then if you're successful at that you have to be responsible for setting up attacks. |

F1 driver undoubtedly!
Are amongst the fittest strongest fastest highly trained sports people ever
Every corner the turn they are subjected to a minimum of 2g-6g more than a fighter pilot in full attack mode
Most normal people would probably manage maybe 5laps of silverstone driving an f1 car and wouldn’t be able to turn the steering wheel after that from physical and mental exhaustion and that’s not even taking the adrenaline into count which would have a complete adverse affect on the average person’s body and probably make them vomit
My second would probably be a boxer
It’s not all about throwing punches

Yeah I’d probably agree, you have to be a critical thinker, the quaterbacks are orchestrating the offence. The pressure is intense. There’s only 32 starting QBs in the sport. NFL athletes are also the best athletes in all of sport |

After seeing a few of them get hit, I would say it is a tough position in that sport. |

Do you agree or disagree " focus in a pocket and rely on your lineman to protect you from a 350 lb defensive tackle. When you are literally half thier weight. |

Meh!
There’s this new event called ‘Tour de France’ where you cycle about 5-8 hours most days, many of them up and down Europe’s highest mountains, they don’t stop every 90 seconds for a chat and reposition, they cycle in extreme weather from 40+ heat to torrential rain, often covering over 120 miles in a day…then at the end, if you’re at the front, you somehow need to find the energy for an explosive sprint finish which also needs the tactical level thinking of a chess grand master to go at the optimal time, based on the terrain and the people you’re trying to beat…..then you do it all again in the next day and the one after |

can't see how any team spirt is tougher than the toughest individual sports.
In a team you can be carried with help from team mates. In a individual sport its all on you. |

"Rugby League Loose Forward
Thread closed "
Loose forward, luxury
try being a prop forward in the 80s, in the days of propper scrums in RL
your head and ball, but the opposition prop thinks not so you get butted off him then punched off the number 9 with his loose arm |
