Just a comment but what has changed in me when half the profiles was accepting me at 50 but 51 it's like a desert.
I'm sure it's something to suck up but age filters are not a particularly good function if it blocks half of the people on site. |

It is frustrating when you go over a round number. I've had it recently too with 55 which is another key level for many. No point in worrying. Just embrace it. On the plus side some wonderful people out there a touch older who are as much/more fun than people younger. You could try organised socials, parties. clubs etc where people are not focused on a number and just judge you in person. |

I disagree...
Age filters mean that we are unlikely to be contacted by those young enough to be our children or old enough to be our parents, as we are unlikely to be comfortable with that sort of age gap.
The same case with other filters. Helps people to find those looking for similar things.

Thanks for your comments. I can see the reasons here so I can understand more. I do think the site needs a redesign also, it seems old in it's functionality, some features are not used. It seems boiled down to me. The age comment is I guess I'm much open to age differences whereas some are clearly not. Being 50 and then 51 there really isn't much difference.. but does by the way people think in tens. I guess that to me doesn't make sense. |

Whats to understand ? There's always going to be a limit to peoples upper age allowance. If it was 51 you'd be okay with it. Then, next year, knickers in a twist again.
Yours is 20 lowest. 99 highest.

Somebody could say the same on your age limit. Why 20 and not 19? Not much difference really. I guess we have to draw the line somewhere. If somebody who has a rough limit of 50 put 53 then somebody who is 54 would be saying not much different  |

Some people will extend their set age limits a little beyond their ideal, so 50 may have already been pushing it for them.
People are free to like who and what they like. If someone doesn't like 51 years old men, what's the point of them having their time wasted through looking at them?  |

Some people lie about their age. They may filter at 50 to cut out the lying 60 year olds. |

Age is the first thing I look at in every profile so it's an important part of how I choose to use the site.
My lower filter will always be 10 years above the age of my eldest child so I change it every year.
I don't care how mature or friendly or "hot" anyone who falls outside that filter is because it's all about how comfortable I feel and therefore I will exclude everyone who doesn't fit my preference without a second thought.
If someone was inside my filters last year they will still be inside them this year because obviously they will be one year older just as my filters will also be so it's never been an issue or a topic for discussion.
It's not my loss if they weren't what I was looking for in the first place and it can't be their loss for the same reason. |

If you are feeling hard done by because people have filters then go to a club or a big social event because generally people don't ask your age.
Just be happy with your age and let people be happy with an age they feel comfortable with especially online where it makes a difference |

I like the age restrictions if I'm honest, before we actually set them, we got alot of messages from men who I certainly wouldn't meet due to the age gap, we have recently been considering lowering ours again as we're struggling to find much in common with the older side of ours so for conversations, it's hard work and I find it's causing me to find I'm not attracted to said people on an intellectual level whoch is a deal breaker for me

I’m happy with being 53. I choose to meet people who have no issue with my age. TBH it all comes down to personal choice as with all things in the world. Just deal with it and move on. Be happy !!
Having said that there is a hell of a lot of manipulation when it comes to ages on here  |

I’m 55 and yes messages did dwindle when I reached 50 but people have age filters for a reason. I’d rather meet fewer people who want to meet older people rather than be inundated with frivolous messages.
I do host socials which helps. It’s what you make of it. |

It's great if you don't think about your age and Carry on as normal. Never think about it if you feel old stop thinking about it via the age be active you'll feel a lot younger by your own accomplishments |

Everyone here has their preferences,when a person reaches a certain age some will meet ...others won't..Sex is like Music to a certain extent.. everybody has their preferences or like a certain type of music and what they like won't be what you like or like to listen to..it really is that simple..turn on or listen to the music you like ..same here tbh only message those that you fit into their filters...What's the point in sending messages to those that have no interest in you in the 1st place .?..its a complete waste of time .. for everyone..time is moving for everyone..those that are younger now will someday find themselves in the same boat you are ..it's just life ..but please don't worry about what you wish could still be the way ...instead be thankful for everything you have ..who knows you could meet a person that you are within her filters and have mind-blowing sex with that person..who knows ..yes as a person gets older the pool might be getting smaller but that pool just might contain the gem you're looking for.. |

Age is not just a number as some people will say, it is a reality so deal with it accordingly and adjust your expectations and aspirations.
No matter what happens in life your age will increase every year and there is nothing you can do about it, tough I know but that is the way it is. |

I'll be 56 on Saturday so more doors close in fab, I can't change that but fab is only 1 avenue, I still have options in the vanilla world and still go to organised socials when I can.
