Two lots of bread failing to rise. Usual recipe so quite surprised. I checked the yeast and still in date so not sure what the issue is. Any members of the WI (or other equaly accomplished bakers) can give some light on this mystery please |

Have you been careful to keep the salt away from the yeast?

It's probably the temperature have you got a proving setting on your oven? Failing that it could just be bad yeast. |

Is leaving it uncovered a suggestion or a reason?
A reason, it will dry out." ok. I don’t do that so I just don’t get it. It used to be so easy |

Get a bread maker, chuck it in, add water, press start, job done |
