"No matter how many times I watch it I still can’t believe how good it is.
What’s your favourite film that not that many people know about? "
I was literally looking at that on Netflix a minute ago but decided it probably needs more attention than I'm willing to provide right now.
Maybe during the week. |

The Dish i can watch over and over again.
The Station agent. The only film I've seen that really isn't easy describe. It has Peter Dinklage in it and he plays a midget or is it a dwarf? A short person. |

The Big Short was amazing!
My favourite film is a French film called La Haine. A day in the life of three guys in a Parisian ghetto amidst riots over police brutality. It’s a masterpiece. Pure and simple. |

I like Old Boy (Korean version). Not one I watch over again but it opened up a whole other of genre of film.
Arrival I just love that film makes me think about time and life.
The Martian and Hidden Figures are my go to when I want to watch something I just love.
I do like a cheesy disaster film too though. |

Brick. It’s a film noir with all the elements, the gumshoe infatuated with the victim, the femme fatale, the mysterious antagonist… but it’s set in a high school with teenagers. It’s completely brilliant, but I’ve never met anyone else who’s seen it. |

Not sure if not many people know about it but In Bruges is one of my favourite films ever. The language used hasn't aged well but it's a hilarious dark comedy that well worth a watch! |

High Fidelity is great! On a Nick Hornby theme, one of mine would actually be 'Fever Pitch', but the Arsenal fan in me probably makes me like that film more than others might!
Another would be 'Goodbye Lenin', which I'm a complete evangelist for... |

Closer - the 4 main characters played by Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, Natalie Portman and Jude Law have no redeeming features whatsoever but the dialogue is absolutely stellar. Massively underrated film.
Honourable mentions for A_elie, A Very Long Engagement and Sling Blade too. |

I loved The Big Short.
I'd say The Lobster (a brutally black comedy about societies obsession with dating and relationships) and Calvary (a very black comedy about Catholicism) didn't get enough attention. |

Not a favourite but -JOHN DIES AT THE END (brilliant spoiler alert for a title) was good enough for me to recommend here. Because I’m always surprised how this gem got under the radar.
not many people knew about its existence. |

We saw the play in the west end long before the film… it’s a good film but the play was so much ore impacting
I used to lunch in the same “park” they meet in. It’s a beautiful “secret garden” like place in Smithfield’s called “the Rotunda” |

C here (male).
Big short. Agree a super super film.
Tonnes of well known films. Obviously we will all have loads of them.
But “understated success”: I loved “13 hours: secret soldiers of Benghazi”. (On sky download now-very shooty to be warned). Got hammered because of people were being snobby towards Michael Bay.
But as ever - each to our own.
