Dear Gentlemën, fellôws, lothårios, cháps and càds,
Do you keep a spreadsheet or ledger of all your dates and conquests - of your romantic interludes, playdates, 'meet me now' sessions or socials?
Are they written down, captured in your notes, etched in your brain...or do you go all Edmond Dantès or Robinson Crusoe and resort to primal markings on a stone tablet or notches on your bedpost?
Tell, tell ! |

God no the ones i remember are the ones worth remembering
Other than that things are way to high to remember
Been on fab close to 13 year things got crazy in the middle
First couple off years I was quite shy
The mid years were wild went though wild fase off leting anything bang
Lockdowns brought me out off that crazy fase and a bit back to earth
Every ones in a while I have let loose from there
My outlook is shifting ones again now more looking for social friends and such as well as a playmate
That’s not to say I not have those days off just wake up and going fuck it who wants a go take a ticket and line up

I'm not going to comment on whether or not it's a good idea
BUT...
I think it could be useful sometimes. I have a friend who has an erm... constantly roving eye. So he's doing his thing, messaging a woman and saying hi, would be lovely to chat more with a view to meet one day etc.
Only for the recipient to tell him they had met. And they had been intimate.
I almost squirted with laughter when I found this out.
So sometimes? It could be a good idea. |

Not a gentleman but I’ll answer anyway
I just have a note on my phone with their names, that’s all. Just nice and simple.
I’ve seen online people keeping diaries with dates, ratings out of 10, whether they’d came or not.. |

See, that feels like the sort of person who missed all their deadlines at university because they spent so much time making perfectly devised ‘revision schedules’ there was no time left to actually do any work. |

I am getting old and forgetful, I even refer to one as 'forgotten Sue' cos when I my mind starts recalling past lovers she is the one I invariably forget.
Maybe a ledger is the answer, though a spread sheet seems more appropriate in this context |

I got a little black book with my poems in.
I got a bag with a toothbrush and a comb in.
When I'm a good they sometimes throw me a bone in.
In short I don't keep formal or primal records.
I've got a box: an ammunition crate of my grandad's. Inside are a few keepsakes. A Walkman, with a tape of The Wall and a headphone splitter so we could listen together on the park. Some letters. A few pictures: Bath, Paris, Liverpool, Amsterdam, Hossegor, Beziers, Cadiz... Half a six pence. A Zippo lighter, with a poker hand. A whiskey flask. A lock of hair. A few bits of Jewellery and such. I got a couple of tattoos and another to add.
It's etched in the brain, once something sparks the memory: my eyes close and it's like it was yesterday. |

There's an Alan Bennett story (help me someone, I can't recall which one) where a much-loved man dies and, amongst is belongings, is discovered the notebook he used as an aide memoire for all his lovers (both sexes), with notes of their sensual preferences. I remember loving the story, but keep thinking it was The Uncommon Reader - which, since it was a tale about the late Queen, seems unlikely.
Byron, of course, used to keep clippings of pubic hair, which just goes to show some of the challenges which modern life & shaving trends put in the way of poetry. |

Much as I hate to give a serious answer, I did try writing a blog, a long long time ago, on this very subject. Back when sex blogs were in vogue, off the back of Belle de Jour and her contemporaries. Rose-tinted memories of the kind of relationship adventures you don’t talk about in public. Carefully anonymised and all that. (And that’s where my Fab username came from. I carried it over.) |

Not like there's a ridiculous amount or anything, I've just never really felt the need to keep track. |

I'm being truthful though - it's not something I've ever valued so have never paid any attention to it. I don't see the fascination in it. |

I have a friend that does this and I find it a tad weird(not to be inflammatory, just my opinion) I also think putting every female you’ve been with on some kind of list then makes them sort of the same when in reality they’ve all been great in their own unique way so the flashbacks I’d rather. Interesting thread to read though lol |

I have a good memory of who I’ve met….. also very few people to remember. I suppose that’s the upside of a single man syndrome on fab.

Single man syndrome - very little attention, which equates to very few peoples names to remember |

I too joined that list. I got laid a few times off the back of that blog which was a mix of contemporaneous reports on my current activities and recollections of past lovers. I remembered them then and can recall details of trysts and adventures from 20+ years back to this day.
Can’t remember what I had for tea last Thursday though

"Do you scribble down your conquests information some where Nero?"
•
I'm really delighted that you asked this Mèlí. I use the extremely useful •Fab Notes• function found within each profile.
It's invaluable for capturing my experiences from illicit interludes, titillating trysts and the occasional ravishing rendezvous.
It's not about notches or conquests, but more about the little quirks or playtime idiosyncrasies that I need to remember for next time - such as: she prefers Champagne over Prosecco, one sugar in her tea, scones and not pastries, gluten-free versus gluttony, remember to unhook her bra from the front, allergies - such as leather armchairs but she happy to be bent over a fabric Chesterfield. Those little morsels of thoughtful things, being considerate and accommodating....I think you get the general idea. |
