We used to have the Blades at a local airport and they'd be frequently practising overhead and always approachable if you went down to aerodrome... they stopped flying earlier this year though, but some of their pilots were ex red arrows and the blades team themselves were world renowned and used to take part in displays and the red bull races.

I read that they gave up but I see them regularly in that area. They put on a decent show most weekends

I used to live near their base in the 70’s and used to cycle out to watch them practice regularly. Very inspiring for me.

I got a ride along with the Royal Navy Sharks (helicopter) display team when I was flying training. That was fun..

Thursdays are the best at Sywell, that is when the Spitfires usually get airborne, nothing beats the sound of a Merlin engine.
