I'm a little bit wound up from a recent exchange here. If you don't want to read a rambling ,pissed off rant,look away now .
Had a guy messaging a couple months ago. We moved the chat to another app,you know the one with a T? Anyway, the chat tapered off,which is fine.
Then today I get a message from this new profile. It was photo verified and cam verified so I replied and chatted a little bit.
This guy looked way out of my league but I couldn't help myself.
I hotlisted him so I could see updates and up comes this status with his name on this texting app.
Low and behold it's the same name as the guy from before.
I called him out on it for catfishing and he tried his absolute best to convince me I imagined it 
I literally had the receipts and this guy tried to tell me I was mad(not in those words).
I'm aware plenty of catfishing goes on but have you ever experienced a catfish trying to gaslight you on here?

This is the problem with lying. You end up having to double down on it. Even when caught out. And then you just make yourself look foolish.
The guy’s clearly a waste of your time. Block, rant a bit, and forget about him.

Sorry to hear you had that experience, nothing constructive to add sadly... It's just 1 of a million ways people get attention/ waste others time. They aren't worth more of your energy, but I wish there was a way to report them to fab aot fab admin could investigate. |

I reported both the profiles (old one is still there as well) ,but he'll only make another one. It's a losing battle.

- drinking into a stupor and hurling abuse into the night sky
- booking a smash room (highly recommend if you haven't done one before)

Chatted to plenty of catfish give credit they are very good talkers .passes an hour two but always too good to belive they in the end fuck off as they run out of steam . dont understand the gasslighting thing .

Sorry that's happened to you missus.
Agree with Nat, I've guys bail on me chat goes great.
Then a few months later new profile and we've never chatted, I'm confusing them with someone else.
I know a profile of a guy I'veet twice from here. Nice looking guy, body and the rest etc.
Has used pics of the Internet, why don't know. I called him out on it and he told me he'd lost weight since we last met.
So I done the Google search and screen shotteded the real pic back to him.
Told him this is why guys get a bad rep on her. He's still got both of them on his profile |

Far too many times as a single on here. They even sent the same opening message at times. Yet I was the one in the wrong to call them out. One thing I'm grateful for now is the inbox is a lot lot quieter now and rarely get it on this profile

Woooow that’s pretty bad! We’ve unfortunately had someone we politely said no to, start new profiles over and over. We keep blocking and they keep springing up acting like we’ve never talked before
We posted that we were going to a club one night and they just happened to be there too. We just ignore it for the most part but it is really annoying. One of the few downsides to this place.

Has a few persistently lately, then after blocking seem to be getting a lot of very new profiles messaging... it has got us on guard a bit tbh.

Can understand you getting peeved by shady actions
I don't get catfishing surely they will eventually be exposed as the trouble with a lie is it just gets bigger to stay hidden.
But gaslighting is bad news if you don't realise you're being gaslighted you get drawn in and then destroyed and devastated when the controlling person drops a bombshell

Been gasligthed on here and in real life by an ex who kept coming into my house, moving things slightly, letting one of the dogs out of her crate, messing with the light switches - I could go on. I honestly thought I was going mad until I had to come home early and caught him at it. I still, to this day, have no idea how he got a key. |

First thing I do now is use reverse search. For those on mobile devices just tap and hold on the image. A menu with several options will pop up. Scroll down till you find search image (says something like that) and select. If that finds nothing you can tap on a small icon to the right of the image and that'll perform a website search. I generally find most catfishers out via the websearch.
Let's just say they never like being confronted with their own dishonesty. |

I ve just caught one out half an hour ago sent me 2 completley different pics ones from last year on kik he had brown eyes hes just sent me pics now with bright blue eyes pulled him up on it and hes not replied and no it won't be just coloured contacts as his face is a completely different shape tried to reverse search from a screen shot but its not coming up with anything |

Then today I get a message from this new profile. It was photo verified and cam verified so I replied and chatted a little bit.
This guy looked way out of my league but I couldn't help myself.
I hotlisted him so I could see updates and up comes this status with his name on this texting app.
Low and behold it's the same name as the guy from before.
I called him out on it for catfishing and he tried his absolute best to convince me I imagined it
I literally had the receipts and this guy tried to tell me I was mad(not in those words).
I'm aware plenty of catfishing goes on but have you ever experienced a catfish trying to gaslight you on here?

There are ways to spot one. The first test is in the verifications and also that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. |

This happened after we had split and after I'd moved - he never lived here and I'm still, years later, lost as to how he got a key (our child was too small to play that game with daddy and our "mutual" friends weren't so mutual! |
