"The violence promoted on this thread by some towards non-violent protesters is hard to read. I've seen the video where there is a supposed car crash - traffic moving a very slow pace. The car is in the opposite lane to the protesters and moving lanes. How can they be blamed for this?" I don't know the full details but I'd say they wouldn't have had to switch lanes if dickheads weren't in the road. If there's people out there who can not see where these protests lead, they really need to open their eyes.

"People really should have a look at JSO's website. All it says about their goals is - "Just Stop Oil is a nonviolent civil resistance group demanding the UK Government stop licensing all new oil, gas and coal projects." There's nothing on there about how they're hoping to achieve this, and very little other information. There are invites to go to a meeting, or get "trained" - there's a section with all their press releases moaning about who of them has been arrested, but the biggest eye-drawing section is the "donate" page, front and centre. It's nothing more than a cult that very easily manipulated people buy into, like all successful cults. You see the same dull, bovine expressions on the marcher's faces as you see on the faces of their supporters and those of infamous cult-adherents, like the Manson family. The vast majority of them either need to up their meds, or come off them completely. Bess x" Do people need training for sitting in roads and throwing orange powder and stuff? ![]()

Bess x Do people need training for sitting in roads and throwing orange powder and stuff? ![]() Depends how clueless they are to begin with!

Bess x" Total cult. With Christianity declining for the past thirty years eco causes are the new religion. When you see Alex de Koenig and all the other children on TV shouting at the interviewer for asking legitimate questions and generally being hysterical it looks just like the discord of a fanatical religion in a state of "rapture".We can hope they all do a "Jonestown".

Was it written by a 5 year old? Embarrassingly full of mistruths, grammatical errors, even a few spelling mistakes. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was originally written in orange crayon, their favourite colour, on a piece of cardboard with no sharp edges. I loved the bit that said "WHAT DO YOU DO WITH YOUR MONEY?" Apart from tea and sandwiches we use the funds to organise, pay for accommodation and travel costs. Tea and sandwiches!!! ![]()

"Aren’t they funded by an American group, who, in turn, are funded by the descendent of one of the largest oil companies in America? A cynical man would say “hmm an oil producing country funds protestors in another oil producing country to stop finding new sources of oil to produce, that’s mildly odd”. Or perhaps they do slow marches through Houston, Texas too.. Right message, wrong target, wrong approach. " Yeah not sure theyd use the same methods in Houston. Can you imagine them breaking onto the nba stage!
