Until it strikes maybe 20 meters from you.

Fuck me that was one of the loudest bangs I've heard in my life, the guy in front of me dropped to the ground it was so bad!

Don't think I've ever sprinted down a mountain so fast before

I started hating myself in the moment. Me and 2 other guys hid under an old cable car pillar.

Probably the scariest time of my life though.

The storm clouds literally came out of nowhere and went away after like half an hour.

I was maybe 150-200m from the shelter above but decided to run down as fast as I can.

You should have gone and stood where it had just struck, tested the theory...

Apart from it was on fire…. I’d see the logic in that!! Makes a really loud buzzzz like in 1920’s Frankenstein films when i heard it - no bang though just a really loud buzz - i think the static charge also causes you to shit yourself in my experience.

Llanelli

I've been outside a building that got struck by lightning when I was a delivery driver, the building was a block of flats and it caught fire and everyone had to be rehomed.

Scared the crap out of me when it happened

Was the cable car pillar made of metal?

Pillar yes, I hid underneath a wooden ramp that was next to the pillar, think it was some kind of checkpoint for the cable car.
